“This place was a madhouse on a Saturday afternoon, but for very good reason. The setup is a bit disorientating at first, but makes sense; you order at the glass first, where they’re making the sandwiches, get a ticket to pay at the register, and then wait anywhere you can stand. Dining is standing room only as well, but we did choose to dine in.

The bread used for the sandwiches is an incredible focaccia, golden crisp but soft on the inside. The ingredients are fresh: tomato, basil, olive oil, pear, pesto, and mozzarella. The prosciutto is cut while you watch on an old fashioned crank driven deli slicer. The staff is working over time serving up dozens of sandwiches including their porchetta with horseradish.

We topped it off with some cannoli and Peligrino. Everyone was very polite (customers and staff), and the management did check to ensure you were enjoying the food if you decided to dine in.“

“I can't believe Legami wasn't on my radar until recently! We had an incredible dinner with outstanding drinks. The Legami Martini truly made its mark with the burrata-stuffed olives.

We tried the oysters, which were uniquely paired with pickled onions. The added crunch gave them an unexpected texture that actually worked surprisingly well together. The Shrimp Kataifi was another favorite. I had never had anything like it before but I do wish the portion included more than three shrimp for the price.

This was the best Gnocchi dish I’ve ever had. It was both creamy and flavorful. If Gnocchi isn’t your style, I highly recommend the Pappardelle Al Ragu. Overall, it was a great dinner with exceptional service and beautiful presentation.“

“Amazing food. Everything is homemade. My fiancé and I live an hour away and it is always worth the drive. Must try! We have loved everything we have tried. After developing a gluten intolerance I can still enjoy their delicious gluten free lasagna. Even their homemade breads are much easier to digest than anything else I have tried! When we asked for recommendations, our waiter suggested a family-style three-course meal, and we couldn’t be happier with his suggestion! Each course was beautifully presented, and simply delicious. From appetizers to desserts, every dish was crafted with care and creativity. It was a wonderful way to experience the menu and share in the joy of great food together. “Best restaurant in Charleston. I highly recommend the 4 course menu, it’s been superb both times I was there. When we got our bread, it came with EVOO rather than the cheap oil that is common at most restaurants. This is a testament to their commitment to quality ingredients and that was true throughout the whole meal. Get there before someone post about it on TikTok and it’s impossible to get a reservation!“

“A local place we discovered after a long day of walking in Charleston. We wanted pizza and looked up and soo glad we found this gem. The pizza was delicious. We got salads and it was very generous. Loved the atmosphere...including fresh flowers on the tables. Love supporting local.“

“We have been 4 times now and the food is fresh, plentiful and flavorful. Their pistachio cheesecake and raspberry lemon cheesecake are delicious and we brought them home to enjoy over the next couple of days. The linguine and clam sauce is almost as good as my husband’s recipe . Their bread is fresh and great to finish off the clam sauce. The meatballs are a great meal if you are skipping pasta. Their pizzas are wood fired thin and crispy with many choices for toppings with both red and white sauce. The staff is friendly and attentive. Even the customers are friendly and smile and greet you. “We were visiting from NY and wanted a taste of home! As soon as you walked in it smelled like home and we knew we were going to eat something delicious! We each got different chicken cutlet sandwiches and they were all amazing! The owner came out and chatted with us for a while, overall it was a great experience! The Italian desserts were the cherry on top!“

She went above and beyond to help me recieve some important information, while a guy, I assume the manager was in the background fussing and being really nasty about her being on the phone too long. Well sir, she was helping a previous CUSTOMER. It amazes me how rude Managers are to their employees. And the fact that he didn't care that he was talking loud enough that I could hear him speaks volumes.
If I could give multiple reviews I'd give 1 star based on this behavior.
You don't ever have to worry about me coming back to this establishment. Besides the pizza is OK, nothing to brag about!

“Visiting Charleston,SC, needed something filling . Found New York Pizza on East Bay Street. The young lady April who took my order over the phone was wonderful. She was most helpful in suggesting the amount and toppings. My mobility issues allowed me to go to the Lobby and receive my Pizza. Leo brought it to the desk, he was very nice, appreciative and caring. April and Leo are great employees to have, they accommodate others issues and make it happen. I am most grateful and thankful. “Food was good- pepperoni and basil on gluten free crust & another pepperoni on regular crust. Pizza is wood fired and has that thin crust, rustic, floury thing going on. The kids tried the hot honey on theirs and loved it! The meat and cheese board was good as well. We went on a weekend and there was competing music between here and the bar across the street, lots of people, lots of kids playing on the playground in the seating area.
