“Revising the review to 4 star after our lunch yesterday. The place still lacks a vegetarian lunch plate, but my wife made one up with rice, frijoles, tostones and maduro. Our suggestion for veggie lunch plate was accepted, but we will have to see next time. All other choices of chicken and seafood are certainly quite good.

Reading the reviews as a great Columbian place, my wife and I were here today for lunch. Place was packed, we were seated promptly. Great drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic.
But the food menu hardly has any vegetarian choices. My wife is usually a vegetarian. With nothing vegetarian to choose, she thought she would try fish. She got a whole fried fish! It was an adventure for her.

My fish dish was ok.
Platanos could have used a little more salt. Maduros were smothered with cheese. I don't know anything about Columbian food, but we have had a lot of latin American food. We have traveled to Mexico and Costa Rica many times. But these maduros and platanos seemed quite different.“

The only reason I am giving 4 stars on this visit instead of 5 is because of sanitation - my water glass was dirty, it had small white particles stuck to the inside that I picked out to confirm what I was seeing. Also, the salt and pepper shakers were both wet and sticky with what looked to be jelly/jam. Dirty on the glass sides and the top metal piece. Other aspects were clean- the table itself was perfect and not sticky at all. These things are normal in a diner type restaurant, but this is just such a Charlotte staple restaurant that I know they can do a little better! 😊 The busser seemed to be working super hard, I just think the attention to little details would go a long way. Great job overall!“

“This is by far, one of the best places to play pinball you will ever go to! Why because they keep there games in tip Top shape. If you are visiting the area and looking for a fun place to play pinball, video games then this is the place. They also have good food and drink specials. Great place to chill! Enjoy!“

“Great location. Plenty of places around to go. There was a 20min wait when we went around 12:30pm on a Sunday. The stuffed French toast was very good! The grits were just ok. They have queso in them and are a little too thin. I like thicker grits. Bacon was cooked very well. Biscuits were really good. My boyfriend said the gravy was good as well. It was crowded inside and a smaller place“

“Great food, great service, but if you’re a larger party and are seated in the enclosed patio area, take heed that it will be extremely uncomfortable with the summer heat. They only have a couple of small portable fans that are absolutely inadequate for the total space, and the ceiling fans (supposedly set to the incorrect direction) didn’t help much. Even the dining room wasn’t much better. I know it’s been hot, but if the customer is uncomfortable I can only imagine the staff.“

“My wife and I wanted to get a cake for our daughter’s 1st birthday. As such, we reached out to Sweet Boutique Bakery. Debbie was very responsive and worked with us in designing a cake that matched the theme of the birthday. Not only did the design come out beautiful, the cake was one of the best, if not the best, cake that I have ever had. Our birthday guests could not stop talking about how good the cake was. Moreover, a couple family members came over the day after the birthday party to have another slice because the cake was that good. Our only regret is that we did not order a larger size because my wife and I only got to eat one slice of cake each. We certainly will be returning customers of Sweet Boutique Bakery.“

Arthur’s inside of Belks in South Park mall is a great spot to refuel after doing some shopping. Awesome menu boasting burgers, subs and hot dogs and even salads so there’s something for everyone. I got the chicken salad grinder sub and it was absolutely delish. Cooked to order with a hot a crispy side of fries. They also have a wine shop that offers free wine tastings on Saturdays which is a must do. Can try yummy wines while learning abt their origin. Also a new edition I just found out abt is they have a wine bar on the second floor right besides cosmetics. Great little spot to relax and unwind, do some prime people watching all while enjoying a glass of wine. Perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon at all 3 spots.“

“We had a great experience at Hickory Tavern in Charlotte. I ordered the salmon with Brussels sprouts, and it was cooked perfectly—flavorful and nicely seasoned. My husband had the chicken caprese, which was juicy and fresh with just the right balance of flavors.

We started with a mix of lemon pepper wings and Parmesan chicken wings, and both were delicious—crispy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The staff was friendly, the food came out quickly, and the atmosphere was lively but comfortable.
