The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. I can honestly say this place deserves all the hype. Highly recommend to anyone looking for amazing sushi—you won’t be disappointed!“

“I love Joy of Tokyo to begin with. However, this one is exceptional. I came in and communicated that I wasn’t able to read the menu (I just had to move down the counter a little bit in order to see better and said this to make me walking away a bit less awkward). The kind guy at the front voluntarily started explaining the menu and reading each item very professionally, respectfully, and patiently. I was blown away by the kind gesture, which is the essence things that make dining anywhere a stellar experience.

“I had the sesame chicken combo, subbed lo mien for rice and added an egg roll. It's the best Chinese food I've had in my 4 years of living on SC. Its a small store front restaurant, and it's much better did than what your think you're about to get!“

“Used to go weekly. They changed the spicy tuna roll and I guess dont know how to make it the old way anymore.
Nows its just a tuna roll + spicy mayo. Spicy mayo doesn't belong on sushi (or mixed in with the mince tuna)

Edit: Thank you for the refund. I apologize for the 1 star. I updated the review to more accurately reflect the totality of my experience. Overall: very good. I am kind of particular about food and when I find something I like, I make it a routine.
I was a bit upset that my order had been incorrect. But you have to understand: this was my third time trying to get the classic spicy tuna since the menu change. It has been quite frustrating. To be clear, I don't blame the cashier or the chef at all. I blame the decision to change the menu.“

“This place is a common choice for lunch during workdays. Whether you want ramen, udon, bento box, sushi, or a rice dish, they have authentic Japanese food that is absolutely delicious. The waiters are always very kind and never forget to say hello when you come in and say goodbye when you leave. It's a cozy little place and I hope to try their dinner one day. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food you get.“

I tried the Steak Teriaki, so did my wife. Mine was a little tough,(overcooked) but my wife's was perfectly tender. I think we will return but I will order mine rare.“

“My family and I just happened to wander into the front doors of this wonderful place and we were extremely pleased with prompt, friendly service, relatively affordable pricing (especially considering the area), and exceptionally fresh and wonderful food. The atmosphere was very upscale, but being casually dressed in blue jeans and t-shirts, we still felt very comfortable and welcome. I had the Hibachi Chicken Plate, and she had the Steak Hibachi. We split our Sushi: the “IBM Roll” and “BMW Roll” and words cannot describe how fresh and delectable everything tasted. We were astounded at the quality of food, the speed of service, the friendliness of service and it was like the cook was professionally-trained. Very nice place, if “taste” is what leads you to somewhere new. We loved it and will be back.“

“Easily our favorite hibachi and the Sakura roll is a must have. We appreciate the fresh cut vegetables in our meals instead frozen like it usually is at hibachi restaurants. The service is always great and the restaurant is clean. If you live close do not pass on Sakura!“
