There was a birthday party going on while we were there so a lady was walking around making balloon animals which of course was awesome. The chips they bring to thetable were unlike anything I ever had. I emptied the baskets in with my to go box. If you havent been, go. Very delishous.“

“This place was amazing 10/30/2025. My name is Angela. The waiter, food, service and scenery was amazing! The chalupa; A1!!! I’m serious the burst of flavor in it! I never gave their beans a chance before. I usually get the shrimp tacos but that chalupa, WITH BEANS, had me astounded. I felt like I was at top cuisine! It was so good and the waiter, was extremely nice.“

“Brought my son for a birthday dinner with just the two of us, he chose for us to come to San Jose's and specifically this location. We both absolutely love eating here! My favorite meal to get is the delicious Chicken Ranchero! My son loves the Fried Chicken Burritos!“

“If you don't get the fries that are $14 you are losing. Food better than 99% of sit in Mexican places and it's in a gas station. Only rated service 3 stars because they missed my sandwich on the call in and had to wait for them to make it. It took half the time getting a burger at hardees in swansea so can't complain I changed to 5 stars after further contemplation. Place is always busy so figured we would try it tonight. We'll definitely be back for fries and a cubano. Wife had a steak and a shrimp street taco and said both were great but shrimp with guacamole and cilantro were the winner. A+ 5 🌟“

The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the service was friendly from the start. I tried the chicken nachos, and they quickly became my favorite. Perfectly seasoned, generously portioned, and loaded with all the right toppings—crispy chips, tender chicken, melted cheese, and just the right kick of spice. You can tell they put care into their food. If you're in the area and looking for a local spot with great Mexican food, this place is worth the stop. I’ll definitely be back!“

“We were regular San Jose customers, and while they are good, they were closed. We decided to try Chapala's again. A couple years back, we had gone and weren't too pleased. We were very glad we gave them another chance. Not sure what has changed, but the food was outstanding! The most tender chicken in the entrees and the guac was extra good! We are now regular customers. So, if you haven't been in a while, do yourself a favor and revisit!!“

“If Nick is not the manager I hope he gets a serious raise, or even if he is the manager - he helped me big time tonight - I was ordering on rewards points alone in the app and accidentally ordered at the wrong store. He was able to help me get my points back and order at the right store. I didn't have any money (50 cents in my account) so it was the only dinner I was going to be eating - he really made my night because I did not think it was a mistake that could be fixed. I hope he knows how much I appreciate it!“
