“I'm really glad I found this place. Their isn't much good take-out asian eats around here that are affordable, so this place is a great find. I've tried their small steak hibachi, philadelphia sushi, small lunch orange chicken, small lunch sesame chicken, shrimp tempura, spring rolls, and egg roll.

Orange chicken and sesame chicken were good, esp. considering the price. I willl definitely be back for their lunch deals. It's solid, and the fact you can get a pretty good portion for $6.25 and not make yourself food is great. Really affordable and yummy, but not blowing your socks off good.

Steak hibachi was okay. Steak was a little tough, but good portion of veggies. I'm not a fan of the sauce they use for hibachi.
I'm also not a big fan of their fried rice, either. Try taking it home and doctoring it yourself. It's just bland as it is. If you get their lunch meal, you can stir in the sauce into the rice and that helps a lot.
I also would not get their egg roll or their spring rolls. It's not very good, in my opinion.

Their philadelphia sushi was really good! I would go back for their sushi, as well. Rice was soft, wasabi was good, and their ginger was delicious. For the price of almost a publix $5 wednesday sushi, this was far superior.

Their shrimp tempura was also A-mazing. Extremely light and crispy.

Honestly, overall, this is really not a shabby place. I like it. Its ran by a mom and pop plus an additional cook, and their young son pops in and helps answer the register or window if the parents are tied up. It's cute. I'd keep this place on your radar for a quick and cheap meal that also scratches the asian food itch.
It's also a lot better than every other chinese take out food (I know its not chinese, but c'mon, their lunch options are definitely like chinese take-out). I recommend.“

“Sushi Masa is an excellent sushi bar and restaurant. Their salmon nigiri is very high quality. Scallops ‘gunkan style’ are awesome. The A5 wagyu special nigiri is a reasonably priced luxury food. Service is excellent and friendly. Crowded Fri/Sat. Call ahead during the lunch hour to score a dinner reservation later in the week. First seating is 5:30 — easiest and best.“

“Tokyo Cafe is one of my favorite Asian Fusion restaurants!! I have never had a bad meal here. I’ve tried several different sushi rolls, hibachi combos, fried rice and Panang curry. The portion:pricing ratio is amazing! My leftover usually last 2-3 still delicious days. Very reasonably priced. My favorite is hibachi filet—the filet is impeccably cooked and seasoned. It’s one of my favorite places to get a steak actually! Highly recommend!!“

“This place was great and adds a nice variety for food in the cherrydale area. It’s been busy both times I went and the food was still great. They have a friendly staff and fun atmosphere.

There is room for improvement in the front of the house process (the individuals on staff were great!). There just seemed to be some disorganization but I would chalk this up to growing pains. Overall pleased and will be back!“

The atmosphere was very upscale, but being casually dressed in blue jeans and t-shirts, we still felt very comfortable and welcome. I had the Hibachi Chicken Plate, and she had the Steak Hibachi. We split our Sushi: the “IBM Roll” and “BMW Roll” and words cannot describe how fresh and delectable everything tasted. We were astounded at the quality of food, the speed of service, the friendliness of service and it was like the cook was professionally-trained. Very nice place, if “taste” is what leads you to somewhere new. We loved it and will be back.“

“I moved into The McClaren apts. (awesome place) about 14 months ago and discovered Otto Izakaya early on. Only 2 blocks away for me. Otto is, and has been, my go to place, especially when friends, family or business friends are visiting. Not a sole I have introduced has ever had anything but praises for the experience. If we are a small group, I always encourage dining at the bar. I have no idea who will read this, but people buy from people; and people they enjoy interacting with. I would be totally remiss if I didn't specifically mention bar manager Matt and his team behind the bar. If Matt has ever met a stranger, I missed it, as he has the personality to balance the engagement with customers, while still providing excellent customer service. Also, everything I've tried off the menu is high-grade and fresh! That's a must for me. I'd be slack if I didn't mention the awesome hard working sushi chefs, who are always open to preparing a creation to suit YOUR palate and preferences. As to other regular customers, and just my observation, but like me, they appear to have found a home away from home; a place to be comfortable, chill and let the time spent make a bad day better. I almost never take the time to give a review and especially a compliment; as I sometimes look for the negatives, as it is always so easy to criticize. So, as a native Greenvillian and business (person); and someone who believes and enjoys a five ***** experience that is reasonably priced, give Otto Izakaya a try. Whether you live in the area, or are simply visiting, when you leave you will already be thinking about when you can do this again! If you enjoy an adult beverage, be sure and stop by the bar and ask for Matt, as this master mixologist will want to know exactly what you're looking for. And ladies, as I have a daughter in college, so please know whether by yourself, or in a group, you're in a safe place without being hassled and you don't have to look over shoulder (unless there is a stud sitting behind you), because Matt and the supporting staff will have your back so you can relax and enjoy. “Here are the only three reasons you need to eat here: first, the service is fantastic. It's like being in a full service restaurant without the wait times and price of a full service restaurant. Second, the food is delicious. Best sesame and bourbon chicken around. Third, they have the best egg rolls I've ever eaten. “Kanpai Of Tokyo - Greenville, SC has been a family tradition for birthday dinners for over 2 decades. This year as soon as we ordered I let them know that we some dietary restrictions (eggs for me, gluten for my young child). I told the server my daughter couldn’t have soy sauce thinking it would be easier than explaining gluten free/celiac. The server responded asking if she needed gluten free. When the chef came over he cleaned the grill and made my daughter’s food first to ensure there was no cross contamination. The server brought our salads out and the chef quickly stopped him from handing my daughter her salad with ginger dressing informing me that it had gluten in it and asking if ranch was ok instead. He realized after cooking her food that he had cracked an egg on the grill for my daughter’s food and apologized and cleaned the grill again before cooking my food. He also made sure to tell me which sauces contained gluten to keep my daughter safe. This was by far the most stellar service we have had in a restaurant since her celiac diagnosis and we will definitely be back“

“I’ve lived here for 24 years, and tonight was the first time I’d ever been to (or even heard of ) Shanghai Tokyo. I’m from NY and was lucky to experience some of the best Chinese out there. Y’all...this place is hands down THE BEST Chinese I’ve ever had in Greenville!
