This is a unique gem of a restaurant. Family owned for over 50 years, the building did on multiple levels and presents a homey and pleasant atmosphere with themed decor and lighting. Everyone on the staff was pleasant and helped make a good experience. House-made fresh cinnamon rolls and hush puppies with honey butter start your meal. We really enjoyed the Chesapeake House. It reminded me of eating at a nice restaurant with my parents many years ago. A lovely nautical atmosphere offers great lake views. The food was excellent. The menu has something for everyone. The fish stew and she-crab soup were excellent, and my Caribbean jerk Mahi was absolutely delicious. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. Enjoyed fried green tomatoes, onion rings & ranch salad dressing was great. Our party of 5 had different dishes and we all liked what we had. The hush puppies were the best we’ve experienced during our stay. Definitely get your money’s worth with enough leftovers to “take home”!
