“Willie Jewell‘s BarBQ on University Boulevard is our go-to place for barbecue! We love dining in or getting carry-out. All the meats are excellent AND the sides are flavorful and quite varied, including daily special sides. The portions are generous and one of my favorite things about dining in is that all the sauces are WARM and available in a large pump dispenser. It’s always sad to me to put cold sauce on warm meat … that never happens at Willie Jewell‘s BarBQ on University Boulevard! The restaurant has an old-fashioned and lighthearted atmosphere and the staff are pleasant and efficient.“

Asian / Southern fusion done soooo well… lots of great restaurants around, but this was one those rare dining experiences where every bite I tried was a new and unique flavor experience that both delighted and surprised me! “This is a great local BBQ place! Even if the SC sauce wasn't good (it IS), the staff are the best around! Very friendly, welcoming, and entertaining! Plus, their Christmas decor is over the top beautiful! It really puts one in the spirit of the season! Love this place!“

“Definitely need some better attention to cleanliness after guests have left their table. Seating new guests at a table with food one thr table, chairs, and large pieces of steak on the ground is unsat. Silverware had very noticeable food remains on the fork and knife I received. Our server was very professional and courteous, but seemed to have too many tables. With the tables, floors, and server attention I'd say this location is under staffed. At least I hope that's the reason for the condition of things there.“

“I love love LOVE L&L…. I grew up in Hawaii and haven’t been there in a long time. So it made me happy when this one popped up in Charleston! I’ve had their kalua pig plate, however tonight, I got the “lighter garlic shrimp” plate since I’ve been on a healthy journey and tryin to make better choices. And I’m sad to say I was very disappointed with my order 😩 the shrimp was not prepared at all how I remember and the shrimp was very over cooked. The plate also said it had brown rice, and I got white. I love this restaurant and I still recommend it to everyone. But I do think they need to work on their shrimp plate a little.“
