“This restaurant is definitely one to check out! The food was freshly made, and quick service. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. I'm big on cleanliness, so this was a great to see.
The worker recommended the steak shrimp combo meal. The portion was good with two scoops of rice. The food was cooked thoroughly, and had the Japanese flavors we all love.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the cost. I think the plate was a little steep at over $17. However, with the ingredients being used, it was still not overly priced. You're not getting a deal, but you're not getting ripped off. They keep the seeds inside the zucchini, so you will notice many of these as you dive in. I am excited to come back one day to try some other plates. I will update then.“

“Great food with great prices!! Staff is always friendly and food is ready fast. Enough food for 3 meals. The steak is always tender, and the shrimp is very large. One of my favorites is the carrots!! I have my daughter and her husband driving from Powdersville to eat here, they own 2 restaurants and they loved Fuji!! Keep up the good food guys!!“

“Small place with a very basic dining room. Nothing fancy, but they keep it nice and clean. Music was a bit too loud which made it hard to talk at our table. Young lady at the front was very nice, explained some things on the menu and gave us some good recommendations as this was our first time eating here.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The past reviews of this restaurant show sushi and several other dishes they no longer offer here; this restaurant is under new ownership as of November 2025. So be advised that this place no longer offers many things seen pictured in the older reviews. Refer to their CURRENT menu on their website for choices.
We got Hibachi chicken and hibachi shrimp. Teriyaki sauce was good and it came with some wonderfully crunchy veggies and a good portion of fried rice. I did not care for the fried rice, it has a strong fishy taste to me ( maybe a tad too much fish sauce?) But my husband liked it and gladly ate all mine, too. The chicken portion was small for the price, but tasty. Their Yum-Yum sauce is EXCELLENT! Not overly sweet or gloopy. The hibachi plates come with Miso soup or a mixed greens salad.
We got crab rangoon which was different than any we've had but quite tasty. It is a sweeter filling so if you lean more to savory in your filling, you may not like them. They come dusted with powdered sugar, as well.
Onigiri is served instead of sushi rolls. We had the California and Spicy Crab ones. You can get them deep fried if you like. We did not. They were both VERY tasty!
Egg rolls were crisp and loaded with the usual veggies and some pork. They were rather bland, having no sesame oil or garlic flavor to the filling. We also tried the Gyoza and they were delicious. Pork and veggie filled then steamed/pan fried to crispy perfection.
They do a brisk take out business and orders were being picked up the entire time we were there.
I think this is a delicious...and nutritious choice for anyone in the area looking for great Japanese food! We would go again if nearby.
My only suggestion would be to lower the volume of the music. Thanks for a great dinner!“

“The food was great but fair Warnings to you all, it has Rich People appetizers, so you pay like $10 for five two inch slivers of steak or seven dumplings. But the Raman itself is absolutely worth the price, it all tasted to fresh and hot and just makes you melt! Especially perfect for cold or rainy days, it's like a hug in a bowl.
The service I can't really rate fairly, our server was really polite and well mannered, it was kinda obviously her first day on the job. And with how busy it was she was kinda left on her own so with those two things combined everything took a really long time to get anywhere. I'd recommend going on a weekday.
The decorations were really good!! I'm a total weeb so I loved the posters and wall decor and the whole vibe was really nice
Small issue, tho', the way the place is built makes it loud... Really loud, I could hear conversations from three tables over so I was having a rough time, haha. But that likely won't be an issue for most people so take that rating with a grain of salt.
TL:DR
Appetizers are overpriced and underwhelming, Main course is to die for, service is new and slow but friendly and the place gets Loud when lunch rush hits.“

“I moved into The McClaren apts. (awesome place) about 14 months ago and discovered Otto Izakaya early on. Only 2 blocks away for me. Otto is, and has been, my go to place, especially when friends, family or business friends are visiting. Not a sole I have introduced has ever had anything but praises for the experience. If we are a small group, I always encourage dining at the bar. I have no idea who will read this, but people buy from people; and people they enjoy interacting with. I would be totally remiss if I didn't specifically mention bar manager Matt and his team behind the bar. If Matt has ever met a stranger, I missed it, as he has the personality to balance the engagement with customers, while still providing excellent customer service. Also, everything I've tried off the menu is high-grade and fresh! That's a must for me. I'd be slack if I didn't mention the awesome hard working sushi chefs, who are always open to preparing a creation to suit YOUR palate and preferences. As to other regular customers, and just my observation, but like me, they appear to have found a home away from home; a place to be comfortable, chill and let the time spent make a bad day better. I almost never take the time to give a review and especially a compliment; as I sometimes look for the negatives, as it is always so easy to criticize. So, as a native Greenvillian and business (person); and someone who believes and enjoys a five ***** experience that is reasonably priced, give Otto Izakaya a try. Whether you live in the area, or are simply visiting, when you leave you will already be thinking about when you can do this again! If you enjoy an adult beverage, be sure and stop by the bar and ask for Matt, as this master mixologist will want to know exactly what you're looking for. If you read this review and haven't stopped by, you're in for an experience catered to the way you would most enjoy it. And ladies, as I have a daughter in college, so please know whether by yourself, or in a group, you're in a safe place without being hassled and you don't have to look over shoulder (unless there is a stud sitting behind you), because Matt and the supporting staff will have your back so you can relax and enjoy. If you have a chance to meet the owner, please do, as his passion and dedication for excellence in all aspects of the business is instantly captivating. Sorry for the length of this, I was on a roll! No "pun" intended! Give it a try real soon! M.P. 😎“

“Hard to go wrong here. Can watch them make your food through a nice little window. Quality of food is good. I'd suggest substituting the ginger sauce for the shrimp sauce. I believe personally has a lot more flavor and definitely has a lot of this calories.“

“I dont eat sushi. But my fiancé does. Their sushi selection is insane. And she said it was incredible. We also got pork gyoza (best ive had) crab wonton (incredible) and spring rolls (also some of the best ive had) she got a drink and it was good. Finished it off with some sake. Highly recommend if you're in DT Greenville and want sushi. Also have plenty of non seafood options like hibachi etc if you're like me“

“Good value for the price. I had the hibachi vegetables which was a generous portion of broccoli, onions and carrots. The sushi was simple and rolled well. Plenty of staff however when one person was taking a phone order the cooks were at the counter and ignored me until the cashier could hand me sauce.“

“Absolutely LOVE Dozo and have since they opened. The sushi is always fresh and we are always treated like family. Yes we miss Mr Mike but the cook at Powdersville is just as good!!! We will continue to support Easley and Powdersville locations for years to come. Do yourself a favor and try the kracken roll. Who knew bacon and sushi went together?!?!?!?“
