Chinese Restaurants near Saint Matthews

“Great little restaraunt in the tiny town of St. Matthews. I called in an order at 10pm on a Saturday night. Arrived at 10:20pm and was the only one there. Appears to be a lovely couple running the restaurant. I received my order of a Kung Bo Chicken combination w/ fried rice and I also got 2 egg rolls and a can of Coke. I drove back about 20 min and the food was still very hot. The egg rolls had a crisp outer layer with fresh vegetables inside. The fried rice was excellent! In came in the same dish as my Kung Bo and I ended up mixing it all together but before I did I tried it plain and it was seasoned well, had nice size chucks of meat that I believe was pork. I was eating it too fast to stop and actually see what it was. I will definitely return just for that alone. My Kung Bo Chicked had an excellent meat to vegetable ratio. Lots of chicken with lots of fresh vibrant flavored celery that was crisp and added a texture that contrasted the chicken and it's flavor perfectly. The chicken was soft and tender. At first I expected it to be the cheap gristle/tendon filled chicken but not a single piece had any of that. The peanuts were also very fresh tasting.
Overall a great dinner with an excellent portion for the price. Its a tiny little place thats easy to miss, but if you are ever out in small town South Carolina and want a great chinese meal, I recommend stopping in!

“This is the single greatest chinese food in the history of ever. I moved Upstate Sc and when i come home i go to HotWok because i cant get it anywhere else. Every food item is amazing. But the bourbon chicken with the sauce on the rice is the best. The honey chicken is fire too.“
