“What a treat it was to finally slow down and enjoy what I’d easily rank as one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in the Aiken area. Tucked away in Saluda South Carolina, is X-TRA Bacon or NOT, this locally owned spot delivers both flavor and genuine hospitality. We ordered the classic two-egg breakfast plate with home fries, thick-cut bacon, and sourdough toast. Everything arrived quickly, piping hot, and absolutely packed with flavor. It’s the kind of meal that reminds you how satisfying a simple breakfast can be when it’s done right. Liz took wonderful care of us from the moment we walked in. Since it was our first visit, she patiently answered all our questions and made sure our coffee stayed hot and full the entire time. Her friendliness made us feel right at home. We asked her to pass along our compliments to the cook, and not long after, John, the owner and cook, came out to greet us personally. That kind of personal touch says a lot. Open Wednesday through Sunday from 7 to 2, this place is worth the drive. Safe to say, Saluda has officially become our new favorite breakfast destination. Our next visit is lunch!!“
