“My husband and I made reservations for Sum Bar for my birthday dinner after hearing amazing things from some friends. It did not disappoint.

From the moment we walked in the staff was kind and attentive. We were even given complementary bubbles for my birthday celebration. Our water was always filled and plates arrived and were taken from the table promptly and seamlessly.

We ordered almost everything on the menu and didn’t have one bad bite of food. Every single dish we tried was delicious. I love chili oil but I barely used any because I didn’t want to take away from the flavors already created. Stand outs were the cucumbers, siu mai, char siu bbq pork, gai lan, and the dumplings but like I said: every bite of food exceeded my expectations.

Last but not least, we left stuffed which sometimes isn’t the case where a restaurant does mostly shareable plates but we even had to take some home. We were so satisfied with the price as well considering all the food we ordered and how good everything was.

Our one complaint (if we absolutely had to make one) is that the tables are close together and it’s quite loud. However, given that all our other expectations were exceeded we didn’t even care so much.

This is easily now one of my favorite restaurants in Greenville (if not my favorite). I’m planning to bring a lot of friends and family to try it. I’m already planning my next visit!“

Our server, Jennifer, made the difference--engaging, personable, knowledgeable and went out of her way to ensure our requests were met--and when several items were not available, she ensured we were satisfied, especially with dessert items that were just out of this world and the general manager came to apologize and was very gracious!! We were also visited by the owner, Rick Erwin, who greeted us along with other tables--a rarity. The evening was totally unique in so many ways--thank you and we will be back from North Carolina.“

“This is one of our favorite hotels to stay at. The bar is just amazing. Live music and djs on the weekend with games, books, table options, dog friendly, and even an outdoor patio over looking the city!

“Can’t say enough good things about the yard house. We ate here yesterday 12/5/24 around 1145am and the food was delicious. We had a server that was attentive to our needs. We ordered the four cheese spinach dip for an appetizer and I had ordered the Korean ribeye for my meal. It was really good, especially the fires that come with it.
