“What! As a patron way back in the Food Lion strip mall days, this was hands down the best buffet in town, & sad when they closed. I watched when they broke ground on this new location. I couldn't be the first to enjoy since now I have an autistic child of habit, new isn't easy for us. Using my Super Mama powers, we went for lunch on his birthday in January. I do not have enough room on here to describe the ambiance, cleanliness, kindness, etc... Lucas & I will NOT EVER eat out anywhere else, not even fast food joints kids are attracted to. You get your own hibachi chef, sushi buffet with chef, "traditional" American foods, full salad bar, bars full of Chinese & Chinese-American foods, soups, desserts, superior service, a really undescribable without experiencing for yourself just daily lunch. So much deliciousness to even attempt to enjoy in a 2-hour visit for the price of chicken nuggets, fries, drink, & shake at fast food joints! If the lunch is mind (gut) blowing, supper must be out of this world! Soon. I have to judge many places by staff because of my son, who not only rolled out the red carpet for him/us, but innumerable amounts of other-abled folks, which is important to me. I have traveled & eaten at many places. I now have built-in ADA EYE. My eyes have never, ever, laid eyes on wait staff, or owners, who help a blind person or someone in a wheelchair get tabled and then helped with food selections, plating, and seated to enjoy. Care, respect, not enough words for this either. I have heard the owners waited 15+ years, raising $1,000,000 to create a dream for themselves and their patrons. Where in Columbia, Lexington, Orangeburg, Sumter, Charlotte, Augusta, Greenville, Charleston, Atlanta, and so on, can you get the same? Send me a Gmail & we will talk! “Wonderful! Lowkey, casual spot with delicious food. We had sushi and boba milk tea. The $5 sushi specials far exceeded expectations! And other sushi rolls were also delicious! We will keep this in our list for when we travel between here and the coast.“

“Birthday celebration for my wife at MGrille could not have been better!

We held a celebration for my wife’s 75th birthday at MGrille, with about 30 friends. Michelle Wang was wonderful for us to work with in designing the menu and arranging the venue. The food was everything we could have hoped for, Michelle made special accommodations for vegetarians and everything was delicious. The food was kept warm in chafing dishes during the first hour of the party, while we mingled and chatted. When the group was ready to eat, the tops of the chafing dished were removed and folks filled their plates … the food was delicious and perfect for serving. Everyone commented about how great the food was, the two cocktails we picked out for the party were enthusiastically enjoyed and there were also three choices for nonalcoholic drinks. We also greatly appreciate Michelle’s wonderful staff for the party - Leo, Kyle, Payton and Frank, thanks again! The venue was comfortable and generously sized. The baby grand piano was great for the occasion (and thank you to Bert Ligon, a delightful pianist). We are so thankful to Michelle for making this important milestone celebration so perfect, easy for us and special! 👏🥂“

“Been to the restaurant 3+ times. First time on Mother's day. Place is nice and spacious. Parking lot is large. The staff is so good, attentive, knowledgeable even on the busy day of a holiday. Menu choices are abundant and you can ask and to modify some of your choices. You can also order takeout. Highly recommend.“

“Tsunami is a good restaurant with a fairly large menu. There are various unique sushi role choices and other options (such as noodles and chicken) for anyone not wanting sushi. The food was good (and well priced) and our waiter was nice, but the food took a substantial amount of time to arrive to the table. Also, we made a reservation, and showed up exactly on time, however, we still had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Sometimes parking can be a hassle since Tsunami shares a lot with multiple other businesses, but if you loop around a time or two, a spot will usually open up.“

“In town for a baseball series and found this gem to take my son, who loves sushi. The ambience was great, from the music, to the decor and the waitress dressed in a kimono. She was very attentive and charming. Loved that the meal started off with tea! My husband who is kind of a sushi snob and likes his place, also said it was good, so it must have been. I had shrimp teriyaki and it was very good. When in town again, I would definitely go back. Highly recommend.“

“This is a great spot for date night. We ordered the Crispy Roll Super Crunch, Pad Thai noodles with chicken, and a mango summer roll. The Pad Thai and the sushi were both excellent, fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed, making it an enjoyable place to sit, talk, and take your time with the meal. We would definitely come back.“

“I’m a weekly regular at my place back home so it’s hard to review anywhere else However, the sushi was pretty delicious and the cost/ quantity/quality was a nice surprise.

The young woman running the register was attentive, warm, and one heck of a multi tasker.

“Frank was amazing. Very friendly and high energy. We came at 9:15 and were the only ones seating in the hibachi area. He came out and gave a show like it was a full room. Very friendly and not too much. Allowed us space to talk and enjoy dinner as well. He made our night. Food was amazing and fresh. Tried this different style of noodles and was pleasantly surprised.“

“I love this place every time I go. It may not be often but it is always clean. The food is always on point. Today I went out with my dad and this is the place he wanted to eat at. How could I say no. Well we both had hibachi steak and shrimp. I had no mushroom and he had his all the way. With my mushroom too on his. We paid 30 for food and we also ate in. They don't sell sushi at this location on Forest Dr.“

“Known for their Hibachi, there is an above average sushi counter in the corner. Special Beltline roll was delicious and only $12.99. From 5 to 6 pm they have $19.99 combo Hibachi specials.
The Hibachi chefs vary quite a bit in personality, style and confidence. We had one who didn't do anything entertaining or really interact and would prefer the opposite, especially having our kids there. Still recommend it for sure!“

“I enjoyed eating here. I’m surprise the food flavor is on the point! The color of the food is good as well.
Very simple basic buffet dishes but good enough to make my belly full and feeling comfort.
If you just want to stop by for a cozy quick buffet, this is a good place. Mostly meat protein, egg roll, lo mein noddle , fruits and some sushi and ice cream.
Lunch is 11.99 , good parking space.“

“Best Japanese restaurant in Columbia. Food and service was AMAZING! All of the staff clearly works so hard. Our server had multiple large tables and still kept up the amazing service although extremely busy. The atmosphere is great and food was even better. No complaints. 10/10“

“I have been to several different locations. This was my first time going to this location. They had a drive thru which really intrigued me.i ordered my food through the drive through. I ordered the chicken and shrimp teriyaki. It came which vegetables and fried rice. The chicken was very flavorful drenched in teriyaki sauce. It was fresh.the shrimp was really good. Steamed with flavor. The vegetables were fresh aswell from zucchini to broccoli. It literally took me five minutes to get my food. I was happy about that being that i went through drive thru i anticipated a longer wait time. The overall experience was good. I can’t wait to go back and order from them again. Due to their speedy service and fresh food items. The meal also came with 2 white sauces. The silverware was in the bag so i didn’t have to ask for any additional items. Can’t wait to go back“
