“The cheese bread was burnt, but I like them burnt. I didn’t ask for a, but they must’ve already knew my mind. The bread was not that good and it kind of gave me food poisoning. But I like having food poisoning, cause it make me feel like a rat and I love rats. But when I got food poisoning, my discord kittens didn’t come over that day that made me very sad. My kitties were very sad, but it’s OK because one of my kitties were catfishing me so it’s a good thing my kittens didn’t come over. Overall, I got food poisoning and my kittens didn’t come over but it’s fine because they were catfish me five stars.”

“I always order pizza from the W 41st and Sertoma location. Today, I made a mistake and ordered from the wrong location. They are both on W 41st. I realized my mistake after they explained the locations to me. They were very helpful, understanding, and made a pizza for me as I waited. Quite quickly I may add. “A definite UFB small bar. Incredible remake. You won’t recognize the new remodel if you’ve been there before! Back smoking and nostalgia room untouched!!! It’s a “Gotta stop there” bar. Their motto is: “Not much happens here, but when it does you must be here””

“This is NOT a 💯 % recommendation for The Wooden Nickel. We first visited this establishment just over two years ago. We frequented it almost weekly for the better part of 1.5 years. It was good…the food is good & at the time the service was good. However lately…in 2024 it has been sub par. This year during Crooks days we stopped in…it took 15 minutes FOR ANYONE to walk up to our table and even hand us menus…and when she did she was on the phone talking to someone. We waited another 10-15 minutes and nobody came back to our table. In fact a table close to us came in after us. They got a drink order and a food order in. There were 2 people here during CROOKS DAYS and the car show! By this point we were fed up with waiting. I went to the bar and told the bartender what was up. His response was “I just got here.” Subpar service to say the least. Prior to this fiasco a week earlier I had reserved seating for up to 15 people for a surprise bday party for my wife. It started ok as I had ordered starters before the party arrived. However once everyone showed up it took over 45 minutes for any one (first person) to get their food orders. They were (2 people) under staffed! How do you not prepare when you know you have a large crowd coming in? IDK what’s going on here however we had spent a LOT of money in this place the previous 2 years before spring/summer 2024. Since Angie has been gone pretty much….bring her back. We have deliberately been avoiding the Nickel because of this latest subpar “preparation & performance”.”

“This bar has the BEST Pizza as well as everything else on the menu. Bingo is fun on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of things to do if you like to play at the casino, volleyball, darts or pool. I also liked the car show and RibFest.”

“Came to SD for work and have been trying a new coffee shop every day. This is the first one I decided I'm going to the rest of my trip. S'mores latte was really good and the staff is super friendly. I only went twice and the girl remembered me, my order, my car and that I like a spill straw. Super fast drive-thru on the way to work.”

“Walked in & ordered to go, had a wait but was to be expected and well worth it for hot, fresh, delicious food. The Baked Lasagna with heavy meat sauce, Baked Manicotti with marinara sauce and Hamburger Pizza all have the same great taste I remember, as well as the Garlic Spirazzi Breadtwists and Cinnamon Spirazzi Breadtwists!! I didn't get their famous macaroni salad this first visit but it's a definite must try next time. There are other salad options including a house salad also.
Pleasant atmosphere with some counter seating, though this new location is mainly set up for delivery and to go orders.
I love that they have individual as well as the family size pastas and the option to buy just one of their breadtwists or cinnamon breadtwists in addition to the six.
Although I will always miss their buffet, having their great tasting food available again is great!”
