Restaurants in Sturgis

“In Gen Z language “I’m OBSESSED”. But that continues to be a really annoying phrase (to me anyway) so I’m going with “I’m developing good habits” with another meal at Magnolia Soup Company up in Sturgis, SD. Yes, we were just there 2 days ago for dinner on Saturday night.

Today’s special was a hot ham and cheese on a PRETZEL 🥨 BUN. If you know me and my love for soft pretzels, that’s all it takes and OMG was it ever delicious. It was advertised as coming with American cheese and far be it from me to question the culinary skills and menu decisions of the owner and cooks but I swapped that with Swiss. Absolute perfection!!! The absolute surprise (not really) was the Chicken Broccoli with Rice soup. I say not a surprise because the restaurant’s name clearly emphasizes an expertise and focus on soup but WOW this soup was AMAZING, so much so we grabbed a quart to take home. Absolutely magical soup skills here! As I’ve said before, fresh ingredients, great flavors, solid menu, tantalizing daily specials, and super staff make Magnolia Soup Company an absolute must.

“I had the best experience at this local winery. The staff was so friendly, and the wines were delicious. I enjoyed this so much that I joined the wine club. The atmosphere is cozy and chic; there are some pretty stunning views of the skyline and the black hills. The outdoor area would be a prime spot for summer to enjoy a crisp glass of wine.”

“Husband and I ate here today. This was the first time he had been in. Food was piping hot and delicious. the pretzel is bigger than your head! Service was prompt and friendly...Kerri Jo was our server. We enjoyed the hometown feel and welcoming environment. Local art on the walls and some really cool merchandise. Can't wait to rock my new sweatshirt! Pam and Jody in the gift shop were absolutely wonderful. Cant wait to go back. What a great local gathering place!”

“Not just a bar. Very clean- they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, coffee is always available. They play all the games for sports. People are usually very kind and when people get of hand it is dealt in concern to everyone. They have nice pool tables, dart boards. Booths for family dining, touch tunes.

They do their best to accommodate and serve. It is a great environment as there is no pressure to drink.

2.00 pops with free refills as everyone should take advantage.

“We had a great time during the Sturgis 85th sitting at Cheyenne’s and Peyton’s bar booth. These two were always on with their customer service. They were friendly and always had a positive attitude. They knew all of our group by first name. They also had the cutest and creative outfits. Would love to see them again next year!”

“Rushed grilled burritos, went back in for grilled burrito and 2 bean burritos that were missed in drive thru. Then after swearing they were in the bag we got home and my son's bean burritos were missing still... after 2 times telling them they are missing, going in, still no bean burritos gave up and went to Dairy Queen for him. Beautiful place but as a 15+ years at a taco John's as employee, supervisor, and manager, please quit screwing around at night.”
