“First time at the Highball Bar snd it was fantastic. Great Bourbon Selection (Wellers Full Proof, Eagle Rare, Blanton’s plus several others). Great signature drink selection. I went with the Old Fashion with Blanton’s. Spacious and contemporary. Bartender was friendly and attentive.“

“Great spot in downtown Sioux Falls to grab a cigar and a great bourbon. Good selection of sticks and great selection of bourbon and whiskey. I recommend E.H Taylor, one of my favorite bourbons. It's rare to find in the wild, bit Stogeez had multiple varieties available to pour. Cigar selection was ok. Menu was broken down by mild, medium and robust to help pick a stick for the mood you are in. Bartender was AWESOME! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!“

They learned my name so fast and can even name all of my favorite drinks (and can most of the time guess which one I want at the time) It's a nice feeling when you're feeling down.. I've brought friends and family, and they treated them the same. quick to remember names and drinks. And it's the only bar i feel safe in. It's also a great place for a very interesting and diverse crowd if that's your cup of tea! If you want some food that isn't a frozen pizza, don't plan to eat there. But that frozen pizza has been a part of a lot of good memories ☺️“

“What a timeless gem. This used to be my local hangout over 20 years ago before I moved out of state. I happen to be back in town for a funeral and wondered if it was still in business, so me and the wife headed that way. Low and behold, it was still there. Walked in and really enjoyed a few of the updates they made including the bar. Went in for one drink and we all know how that goes...lol! We stayed awhile and spoke to some of the now locals and got caught up on what's happening in Sioux Falls. Loved the service, atmosphere and great conversation. Can't wait to stop in the next time we back in town.“

“Changing my rating & review as this last visit was not what I am used to at what is one of my favorite places to go downtown because of all the gaming options. I noticed the game card dispenser when I got my tokens so I asked the guys working if they all needed the reloadable but annoying to have to remember game cards now & was told just the new games did, the vintage type games still took quarters. Great, until you find out that games like multi player games like Pac-Man or one of the oldest arcade items there is, Pinball are not on the list of quarter games. When something was said to the staff they offered no apologies or explanation, just blank rude stares. My whole group left shortly thereafter unable to play any of the games we went there to play & with pockets full of quarters still. This card system change is fairly new I know because it wasn't like that the last time I went so the staff can't be that exhausted in informing customers about it & even if you are, come on guys the customers don't know until you inform them. Do better“

“I met an old girlfriend there and I was able to have a very nice time with her and catch up! Not loud and was able to have a normal conversation without yelling to hear each other. The service was great and will meet there again!

“Carpenter Bar for me is mehh... I've been here once and that's it. Many people have been telling me it's not the best bar since their drinks don't even taste like cocktails, more like alcohol bombs. I didn't want to believe it. When I went there, my husband got a Long Island, I got a tiramisu drink and my mother in law got a coffee martini. My husband's drink was undrinkable, there was no long island taste, only vodka taste and it burned. My drink barely had any tiramisu flavor that was expected. It was mostly burning and unbalanced. And the coffee martini was not bad, but again, it was hard to swallow. When I go to a cocktail bar, I love drinks to have a balance taste. I usually go to The Treasury at Hotel Phillips, just a few streets down Phillips Ave. I would give it another shot to see if I would be a continuing customer at this bar. So we'll have to see. If the experience changes, I might just update this review ❤️

Update: I would like to express that I went a second time on Sunday the 18th of August of 2024, to give it a chance. We had family from Cali come out to visit us and we wanted to have a nice cocktail... Since many things are closed on Sundays at SFSD, we decided to stop by for a drink. And wow, I would like to express that the drinks were balanced and incredible. I could taste anything other than a Shot of alcohol. Not sure what bartender was there on that day, but give them a raise ??? Not only that, the service was very professional and hospitable, and the cheese board we ordered was incredible. Honestly, take it from me, if the first time wasn't a good experience, give it a second chance. You might just be surprised ? ❤️ 5/5 Review!!!!!“

“Room 320 need massive work! it's so gross. Hair on bathroom floors. Nothing lime having a bug crawling on you at 4am. Carpets are awful. Worst part is the AC vent is full of mold! Nothing like getting people sick be cause if poor maintenance. I would expect these things from a super 8 not a Marriott.“
