Located in Regina's industrial sector, Dizzy D's Diner 中西餐厨房 is a hidden gem of authentic Chinese food. The owner and chef, who cannot speak English, is enthusiastic about making authentic Chinese dishes. Despite an unassuming name and off-the-beaten-path location, the food is delicious. The BBQ duck is the best ever had, and the cha siu (BBQ pork) is a favourite—tender, honey glazed, nicely charred, with a perfect meat-to-fat ratio and a beautiful crisp outside coated in a secret honey sauce. The clay pot rice is the best in years, with huge portions. Other dishes include White Cut Chicken with Ginger Scallion Sauce, Deep-Fried Tea Prawns, Beef Chow Fun, Braised Beef with Radish, Stir-Fried Beans, and Cantonese Sweet & Sour Pork. The house-made chilli oil is extremely spicy and very good. The two running the place are super friendly, and the food is fast and tasty. The restaurant offers Western food as well, but the Chinese menu is the highlight, providing a home-cooked meal experience. A few tweaks could be made, but overall, it is a good place to visit for authentic Chinese food.
