I ordered D1 - Vegetarian Vermacelli Bowl and B8 - Hot & Sour Seafood Soup tonight and it was all very delicious.
For the soups you specify level of spice between 1-5. If you are unsure about spice level, I recommend starting with 1 or 2 and ordering some chili oil on the side to gauge. Keep in mind it is an additional $1.95, but worth it for me because I have extra. Plus it's allways easier to add more spice than take it away.
The fish sauce and chili oil seem home made. The fish sauce and spring rolls are unique to other Vietnamese restaurants, and I've been to most. It was a very nice and presentable meal, I was pleased with both items.
Downside is I had to reheat the soup before eating it, it was warm but not hot. And I like it piping hot. I also expected more quantity for noodles, but I still stand by my 5 star review despite these two items based on flavor and quality ☺️

Will definitely be back and I'm happy there is now a North end location too!

“Have travelled the globe and this is one of my favourite places to eat! Take a friend and believes me they will take a friend and so on, and so on. Hot Pot soup is unlike any other are the spring rolls. Very unique recipe. Chicken Hair Nam is addictive. Pleasant atmosphere, wonderful servers and food of the highest quality. They serve it with pride! Chicken fried rice is an old school recipe made famous by the old Lee’s kitchens and the OAndB Kitchen that used to be on Dewdney by the LB and Nortown bowling lanes. The chilli oil is made with star Anise and is to die for. Adds a nice flavour to any dish. Weekday buffet is priced right and the options reflect the best of Mai Phuong’s best items. Not all of course, but some real gooders. Atmomosphere is also pleasant, traditional and clean. You’ll be back again and again as will your friends and family! You will love it! Regina is lucky to have this quality business!“

“The food is always delicious and the new renovations to the restaurant are great. Don't let the outside deceive you, or thr past where it was quite date and grungier. The restaurant is now bright and clean, with an added washroom as well.
Service was friendly... but the food is the star. Vietnamese combo 1....never disappoints. The pork is so flavorful with crispy bits. Chicken and beef are moist and have terrific spices.“

“my husband and i visited this restaurant a few weeks ago & we loved our experience!! the ladies who work here are incredibly sweet, their service was amazing & everything was really fast and tasted soooo delicious! i will absolutely be coming back and ordering again in the future! i also love how cozy the atmosphere is in the restaurant, it's very relaxed and homey!
they had so many yummy options to choose from so it was tough haha but we ordered the combination for two with spring rolls - everything was so flavourful, my husband loved the fried rice and he was very pleased with it all as well ☺️
