“If there’s one thing I can say confidently after going to Little Grouse for the first time is that Brian knows exactly what the heck he is doing. The fall menu is perfect. From the focaccia to start, to the beautiful pasta, and the delicious fish it is all fantastic. Do yourself a favour and don’t bother with picking your dishes. Let Brian do it for you and you will have zero complaints. Tasting menu highly recommended!!“

“Nisarg S was an amazing server. He was quick, attentive and didn’t miss anything during a busy Saturday night. It was awesome to see someone who was so experienced in serving. I was there with 4 friends and we all tipped him what he deserved. The manager Ailene was very professional as well.“

“For $20 & some change to have a starter such as soup or salad before your choice of pasta and a dessert of Spumoni (gelato) to top it off is fine by me and money well spent. We average $120.00 a visit for our family of four after drinks (non-alcoholic, we don't drink) and upcharged soups or salads, which are usually clam chowder or caesar salad.

Have dined here since it has opened. Spaghetti Carbonara was a delicious go-to but has since been pulled from the menu. Any Alfredo dish is tasty. The Tortellini or Ravioli dishes are perfect! I can't forget to mention that bread and butter are on demand and usually the first thing on your table when met by your server.

The atmosphere is wonderful in the summer evenings if you like the sun. The view from the cars is great in the winter as the lights of the city glow on Idywyld drive. My current favorite is the Mushroom Spaghetti Alfredo with added shrimp.

“Never have I ever randomly entered a five star cross the board restaurant for the first time ever and loved it so much. I ate,I drank, I worked on my art, I made conversation with strangers while I came alone. Strangers turned friends due to conversations, same new friends happen to be a parent of one of the servers ? I gave away date night bundle tickets at the cineplex to the table next to me. Only because I over heard their server suggest a snack king power move to the couple for the future! So I say that’s a smart girl but here it’s all just free tonight. Amazing staff, kitchen staff of course included, even the new guy on his first shift( love his Cosby sweater). Amazing atmosphere and amazing food. I’ve lived here since 1999 and I have to start the most epic slow clap ? excellent Bar Stella Sei bellissima!!“

“My recent visit to Chianti Café & Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere exuded luxury, with meticulous attention to detail in both the service and the presentation of the dishes. Despite arriving to an empty restaurant, the single server on duty was attentive, precise, and professional in every aspect, from placing the hot bread to serving water and beer with care.

The bread, although almost too hot to handle, was incredibly delicious—worth the discomfort of its scorching temperature. It was a bold start that set high expectations for the meal.

The lasagna, while initially leaning towards mediocrity, grew more enjoyable as the flavors developed with each bite. What started as a good, albeit unremarkable dish, evolved into something quite satisfying by the end.

The desserts, however, were the true stars. The Blood Orange Cheesecake was a visual and culinary masterpiece—a gelatinized blood orange layer on top, giving way to a sweet cheesecake and a perfectly crunchy base. It was a delightful blend of textures and flavors.

To my surprise, an additional dessert arrived: a complimentary strawberry ice cream cake with a soft white cake base, served cold and cut into delicate strips. It was an unexpected and refreshing treat that rounded off the meal beautifully.

Chianti Café & Restaurant is a solid 10/10 experience.
