Restaurantji's Saskatoon guide: Where to find the best Mexican flavors. Taste a mix of Mexican dishes, starting with Chips and Salsa and ending with Tacos, and savor the best Mexican food around.
“Las Palapas serves as a microcosm of existentialism, blending the essence of being with the essence of flavor. Each dish, a manifestation of the chef's creative prowess, embodies the essence of existence—complex, multifaceted, and rich with meaning. The menu, a testament to the diverse landscapes of Mexico, beckons the diner to embark on a gastronomic odyssey. From the fiery depths of molten salsa to the serene heights of creamy guacamole, Las Palapas offers a spectrum of flavors that mirror the human experience itself. In the realm of aesthetics, Las Palapas transcends mere sustenance to become an artistic expression. Every dish is a canvas, meticulously crafted with colors, textures, and shapes that evoke a symphony of emotions. It's not just food; it's a visual and tactile journey that nourishes not only the body but also the soul. Moreover, dining at Las Palapas fosters a sense of communal unity, echoing the ideals of social contract theory. Here, strangers become companions, bound by the shared experience of savoring life's pleasures. In breaking bread together, patrons affirm their interconnectedness, transcending the boundaries of individuality to embrace the collective spirit of humanity. In essence, Las Palapas is more than just a restaurant—it's a philosophical sanctuary where existential musings intertwine with culinary craftsmanship. It invites us to ponder the nature of existence while indulging in the simple joys of food and fellowship. As the philosopher Epicurus once said, "We should look for someone to eat and drink with before looking for something to eat and drink." And in Las Palapas, one finds both sustenance for the body and nourishment for the soul.“
“service is actually 10 stars consistently but that's not availabley'all are awesome, thank you for such consistent service, friendly atmosphere eating in, and for always helping me when I have food product related questions.everyone deserves a raise, keep these workers around!“
“Went for lunch this afternoon March 28th for the first time at this location. I would say the food and customer service was good. Perhaps talking about personal values/thinking towards other's that makes me little uncomfortable, other then it was good.“
“Wow! An authentic true to Mexico restaurant. Does it feel on the higher end on price? Yes. But it is so worth it!! Besides everything is expensive now a days. I tried the flautas, gringas, burritos. Tacos al pastor, lengua and birria. No not all at one sitting. Birria is a must try! Customer service was warm and helpful.“
“I am Celiac and we ate here for the first time visiting my best friend who lives in Saskatoon. I was really impressed that there was only one item on the menu that I could not eat. We had the nachos. The portion was huge and was enough for my boyfriend and I. They were fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back next time we visit Saskatoon.“
“Taco Time on Central Avenue is the best taco time in the city. They do it up right here at this location. You’re gonna find friendly service here at all hours. I showed up here 5 mins before close expecting to be turned away but no, they said to come on through and the food was on the house. Talk about finding a good day to buy a lottery ticket. Anyway, the food was excellent and so was the service.Parking: You’ve got all kinds of options to park, you almost don’t even have to think about it. It’s that easy and that good at Taco Time at Central Avenue!“
“Loved the design and atmosphere, it reminded me of how my hometown’s used to look on the inside. The staff there were fantastic, cheerful and competent with assisting my order requests. I talked with 3 employees but sadly only have one name to mention. Syashi was my counter attendant. He was great and gave me some delicious Tacotime hot sauces. Will be back next time I visit Saskatchitoon hahah!“
“Absolutely phenomenal service, food & ambiance. I like to bring my toddler out to experience amazing food & learn good etiquette when out. We don't always get the warmest reception in a higher end establishment. We were SO warmly welcomed & given a windows table. The young lady that assisted us, I wish I got her name, was so wonderful. She was professional, soft spoken & made the whole experience calming & enjoyable. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. Small plates, so much variety & selection. We miss Victoria so much & really felt like we found a place that emulates so many amazing eateries on the Island. Ahi tuna was an exciting find & hard to find in Saskatoon. The Chef worked in an open kitchen & watching him execute his craft kept my daughter so alert to the inner workings. The bartender was busy but worked so diligently. The drinks were creative, delicious & presented unforgettably. The team kept a calm, quick, warm friendly flow. Their ability to work so seamlessly with no hiccups, that were ever noticed, is part of the great ambiance. As a busy mom, time seam to slow, making our experience so memorable. These moments with my daughter are so important to me. Thank you for being so kind to her & helping me shape her experiences. We are so impressed & will be back. Oh yes, the flan! There was no highlight missed! The dessert was absolutely awesome.Definitely a gem in Saskatoon.Kid-friendliness: They offered a child menu. It had amazing selection but many items on the main menu are absolutely child friendly. Pricing is so reasonable. Amazing virgin drinks too for little ones!“
“Love this place!! Their options are awesome, I especially love the bowls. Their staff is always friendly and are working their butts off!!! I can appreciate hard work, especially since there were only 2 of them during a lunch rush!! Definitely coming back.“
“Clean location, timely order. I went with my wife and almost 2 year old and they were so kind and patient with us! Gave us some coloring materials for our toddler and food was exactly as ordered. Have called a few other times ahead of time and food has always been ready or just finishing upon my specified pick-up time. Well-run locaiton.“
“This place is a Saskatoon Institution. Been serving up cold beers and hot food for something like 35 years? Great love music, check their website for what bands are playing each weekend and some week nights. Usually they have a small cover charge after 8 or so when there’s a band playing. Food is great, chilli is awesome, burritos and chimichangas are super, carnitas pueblo, anything with the mole sauce… it’s all good. Like I don’t know if I have ever eaten a meal there which was bad, in almost 20 years? That’s decent. Kids and minors under 19 allowed until 8 pm, which is also nice. Its not a “kid friendly” restaurant like with crayons and a play area, but It’s a chill vibe, and suitable for taking kids early on, if they are experienced with adult restaurants and know how to / are ABLE to sit still at a table for an hour or more. Late at night, it’s crowded and rockin. Lots of fun. Everything they do, they do well. Just don’t take bottles and glasses outside or bother the neighbourhood. They are right in a mixed residential / commercial zone. Also nice that they specifically have a sign up to say everyone of any gender/ sexual orientation/ ethnicity etc is welcome and wanted, and hate or abuse isn’t tolerated. During the day and early evening, it’s a mellow place for good food and visiting. Late, it’s great music, dancing, and party, but as I said- whatever they do at Amigos, they do it well. Bbq chicken burger is my fav. With a pint…No taco salad with grilled chicken and a margarita…No , the carnitas… bison burger… the new hot dog… shrimp tacos… the hardest thing is deciding which delicious things to have.Vegetarian options: They have several vegetarian / vegan options.Dietary restrictions: I think they are good about accommodating dietary restrictions, usually willing to make any minor changes for whatever reason.Wheelchair accessibility: Front door is wheelchair accessible, bathrooms accessible .“
“Really clean an tidy place with light music and friendly staff they serve really delicious food. Just went yesterday with my family and had a really nice time there. Highly recommend to the people who likes maxican food specially burritos!!?“
“I was here during the day Friday March 24th. Should have left this note sooner. It was a great experience. The lady working this day was very friendly & helpful when I told her I hadn't been there before. She offered to let me taste anything I needed to know what I wanted. I'm kicking myself for not taking note of her name! If the bosses read this I'm sure they can check the schedule & figure out who it was already on shift at about 1130am this date. Also should note you can have your meal in a wrap, in an edible bowl, or as a salad for gluten free options. If you are in Stonebridge check this place out.“
“Taco Tuesday is amazing. The tacos were so full, and you can basically add whatever toppings. All for $2.50 each!Everything was hot & fresh, and service was fast & friendly. The 1 less food star was for mess. I expect tacos to be a little messy, but both the beef & beans were put on with so much liquid, it ended up soup on my plate. But very tasty soup!I'll definitely be back!“
“I ordered $50 worth of food on a Tuesday. You'd think this would be a hassle, but the staff all reacted positively and said no problem! The 3 staff members worked quickly, and had the order ready for me in under 5 minutes! When I mentioned I would make 2 trips to my vehicle for the food, the manager didn't hesitate to offer "No worries! I'll help you carry it out to your truck!" You 3 gentlemen today gave the best customer service a guy could ask for! Kudos to you from the guys at Speedtech.“
“This location is probably the best in the city hands down! The owner or manager is always there and helping out. The staff is friendly and they give a good portion on the tacos. Everything is fresh and not soggy at all. I love the atmosphere of this place and that they keep it miraculously clean.“
“Not a bad item on the menu here but the carnitas burrito, beef Birria (the kind with the broth) and kale salad are three of the best things about Saskatoon. More in the vein of good truck tacos (they started as a truck) than whatever they serve at places with a calavera on the sign or an all-inclusive resort. Really good value and informal but a super clean spot with good atmosphere and service.“
“Ordered delivery, arrived quickly and food was hot and delicious, there was a personal note on the container thank us for our business which I really liked, been getting food from there for years and its always been delicious and staff has been friendly, highly recommend“
