Comfort Food Restaurants in Chattanooga, TN

“I have been on a bit of a BBQ tour lately and thought I would put Sugar's on the list. I'm glad I did. I had the ribs with greens and mo' rockin stew. I thought the ribs were really good. Very tender, moist with good smoke. They have several sauce options that not only have good flavor but we're quite distinct from each other which was fun and delicious.I don't have enough experience with greens to compare but they were tender and not bitter and I thought really good with the clearly great sauce. The mo' rockin stew was nice too. Kind of a chicken and bean soup that was a nice change from the usual baked beans. The meal came with cornbread muffins. They were good with corn kernels and pieces of jalapenos. They were moist but probably the least noteworthy part of the meal.The restaurant sits up on a hill and has a nice view of Chattanooga. You can sit inside or out on the deck. There are goats on the property which are fun and friendly. The waitress was polite and pretty on top of everything. The cashier/hostess was a nice surprise. Energetic, friendly and engaging she was a nice throw back to classic American hospitality. Overall the whole experience was really enjoyable. I will definitely be back. I would recommend stopping in at least once. You'll be glad you did.Kid-friendliness: Has a kids menu and goats“

“Has a great selection of food. The atmosphere is nice and great decor, has a really beautiful and huge fish tank inside to look at. The food is always hot and delicious and the booths are huge and spacious.Kid-friendliness: Nice selection of food for kids to choose from and has a table tablet thing with kid games so they can play on it. Kids and adults both enjoy the huge fish tank they have to look at.“

“The food and service were both great. It was very convenient to swing by before we took the kids to the Creative Discovery Museum.Kid-friendliness: They provide crayons and paper for kids to draw color and hang their artwork. The lady who spoke with my daughter about her picture was so sweet to her and acted so excited to receive it.“

“The food was delicious!! We had great customer service as well. The restaurant has a great layout and they've thought about everything. I love the energy, but it was too much for me personally as they yell out orders being ready. Seems fun, but was triggering for me. It's completely personal and experience based, so I ate outside. I highly recommend and plan to revisit every time I'm in Chattanooga. Big fan!“
