“We’ve eaten at Drakes, Chattanooga, since it’s opening and never been disappointed until today when a customer brought a dog inside to the inside “patio” seated at the table next to us. The dog was hyper and the man kept scratching it. Next a female joined him and began scratching the dog. The waiter reached down and also scratched the dog. Next time the waiter came by, the dog jumped up on her and again she scratched the dog. We asked to move inside to an empty booth. After we moved the man brought in another dog. Why were dogs allowed in the restaurant? They were NOT service dogs.“

“We love Sushi City! We have been there at least seven times (maybe more) since it opened. That is where my mother wants to go for a family dinner for her 94th birthday coming up soon. We love the food and the fact that you can order all-you-want or just from the menu. Even the non-sushi people can find a good selection for their tastes. “Totally unique place for Chattanooga. I don’t think we have another restaurant like it. The food was very good, we had a bento box, rice don, and our favorite item Inari. The food was really good. The service was always outstanding. Only reason for 4 starts is imop it’s a little expensive. The vegan options are the same price as the meat options which is always a little annoying. Other than that it great.“

“I go here about once a month and it is always a great experience. Never too busy, but the food is wonderful. I love the bento box options since it gives you some sushi and some hibachi. Their sushi rolls are also done expertly and they always look and taste amazing!“

“I have been eating here once or twice a week for a year or more with a variety of friends or getting the food to go. We all agree that the owners and staff are terrific and very likable, the food is excellent, portions are generous, the atmosphere is relaxing.

If you like your food less spicy, they will help you pick dishes and reduce spiciness.

My friends who know more about sushi than I do have enjoyed everything they have eaten while with me.

Im surprised the restaurant isn't packed at all times. I think that is caused by the location on a busy street at a busy intersection and by the narrow side of the building facing the street.

“WOW! Amazing in all aspects! The quality and authenticity of the food is superb! Starting with the salsa... perfect heat, flavor, and consistency. Margarita flight was exquisite- definitely a must. I will be traveling back to Chattanooga to experience this place again...very soon! This is on my top three restaurants of all time.“

“Great Saturday evening dinner for 3 of us. Our server Ashley was friendly and attentive. We had hot appetizers of spring rolls and a breaded shitake mushroom dish. For dinner we all had different dishes, from roll sushi to sashimi to hot entrées. Everything was delicious.

We had made a reservation a couple days earlier, and had no wait at all. It was not crowded, and probably only half full.

I've seen people comment on the cost. Our meal was $113 before tip, which I think is reasonable for good quality food in a downtown location. We don't drink so that keeps cost lower.

“I love this restaurant so much, I work nearby and this is my go-to for lunch, especially since they have a lunch menu for a very good deal. Try it out everything is freshly cooked when you order and it tastes amazing. I’m so happy to have a delicious Chinese Restaurant near my work place. Highly recommend!!!“

“I arrived at 12:15 PM for a work group lunch. The main reason for coming here was because one of the work group would constantly insist on having a lunch here, so I acquiesced. There's a part of the restaurant called the Rain Room where you can sit on the floor (with cushions), but we ate in a booth. My coworkers had already arrived and ordered some spring rolls that came with a dipping sauce (I think it was sweet and sour sauce). The rolls were good, everyone liked them. Our server, Brooke, was also friendly. The bathrooms were very nice looking and well kept. I ordered Rain's Special Noodles with crab and I opted for a spice level of hot (I think it was the second hottest). The noodles took 9 minutes and 45 seconds to arrive. Unfortunately, the crab ended up being imitation crab. What irked me about that is the menu made no mention of the crab being imitation crab, and if you pick seafood as your protein, you have to pay an additional $5. I opted to pay the additional $5 because I assumed I was getting actual crab and not its cheap knock off variety. I really think they need to mention that the crab is imitation crab on the menu. The dish itself was tasty, but again, I was wanting it with actual crab. For dessert, I picked a full order of Fried Banana, which took 7 minutes and 55 seconds to arrive. The fried bananas had a thick breading, which did make it crispy, and it did taste of banana. The ice cream that came with the bananas was decent, but I can't say the dessert overall was anything special. In conclusion, while I had my issues with the food I got, I still had a pleasant experience and wouldn't be opposed to trying this place again.“

I didn’t and this place somewhat exceeded my expectations. i expected worse from other reviews, but everything that i had was pretty fresh and if there was something i didn’t like, it was just because I didn’t like it. An $11 plate filled me up, so good value. All in all, a good bang for your book for some decent food.“

“We called ahead for a large group. Food was great. Servers were very rigid and uptight during the ordering process(One chef was engaged while the other wasn’t). We did look ahead at the online menu. Prices are inaccurate on their official website. Tickets being dispersed after the meal was total chaos. As we didn’t sit with our family together and getting that situated was not great. Over all for a large group celebration I would recommend eating here“
