Just wanted to say we just had THE best takeout dinner we’ve had from any place in Fayetteville tonight! Everything was as hot and fresh as if we were in the dining room, and the portions were fantastic. And of course the polite young guy who took our order is always a pleasure 😁
I had given up on Yamato’s a couple years ago after a really bad experience with them, but my friend insisted we go this past Thursday and I will tell you the one reason that I will come back is our waitress. I believe her name was Catie or Cade and she had black hair. She was so kind and always made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. It’s been a while since we’ve eaten here and wow has it changed! They’ve renovated the inside and it looks clean, modern and inviting. Service was excellent and Jezzie (our waitress) was exceptional! She took our order fast, had a lovely smile and was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent! We had gyozas, tempura veggies, onion soup and miso soup and 3 sushi rolls each. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and was prepared and served fast.

Yamato Japanese Steakhouse offers solid Japanese style food that is very good and consistently so. The food is friggin delicious, with enormous portions of good food for a great price. Specific meals include the #18- chicken, shrimp, and steak, with zucchini, onion, and broccoli, with fried rice, the bento box, fried shrimp shumai, and shrimp tempura. The tempura appetizers are exceptional, the best anywhere. The service is always friendly and efficient. The interior atmosphere leaves something to be desired, but they are sprucing it up bit by bit with art and paint. Don't let the exterior fool you; this place is a MUST TRY. Come hungry, leave happy.
