The food is easily the best we had in Gatlinburg. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Eggs are surprisingly difficult to do in a restaurant setting (speaking as a former breakfast chef at a well to do bed and breakfast in Texas). To nail it so consistently is a testament to the love for the food this place has. The potatoes will remind you of your grandmother's house on those early, weekend mornings with bacon fat sizzling in the pan and the radio playing an old Patty Loveless tune....read full review

Our server Kara was delightful. Tried the cheese curds and fried oreos. WOW. Then had an omelet, biscuits and gravy and sweet cream pancakes. Delicious. Don't miss the great food and outdoor seating on the stream

Based on the reviews, Mountain Breakfast is a beautiful restaurant with amazing food and great service. The atmosphere is great, with awesome views of a stream and a river, and outdoor seating available. The food is traditional, well prepared, and uses good ingredients. Specific menu items enjoyed include the cheese curds, fried Oreos, omelet, biscuits and gravy, sweet cream pancakes, mimosa flight, sweet heat chicken, chicken and waffles, pulled pork hash with eggs, and shrimp and grits. The specialty waffles and pancakes are worth the price, and the portions are big, so guests should come hungry. There is also a healthy breakfast menu. The restaurant can accommodate large parties in an upstairs seating area. Please note the restaurant is not pet friendly; only service animals are allowed due to health department rules. A black bear has been seen in the creek by the restaurant. This is a great selection that is different from basic diners.
