We just had a wine tasting and it was fantastic as always. I have been coming to Smoky Mountain Winery for at least 30 years and have never been disappointed. Jennifer served us and was knowledgeable and a pleasure. We can’t wait to come back. Oh and did I mention, the wine is by far the BEST wine in all of Gatlinburg. Thank you David for providing us with this wonderful wine for so many years!

I was greeted immediately upon entering the winery. After a moment of browsing, the ladies asked me to let them know if I had any questions. Once telling them what I was looking for, they pointed me directly to the correct section. They gave me four choices to help me narrow down my purchase, and then offered free wine tastings as I had a hard time deciding. I was able to make my selection with confidence. We chatted for several minutes before I left. Very kind and knowledgeable people. I would definitely return!

Been coming here for 40 years now. Sue was wonderful and knowledgeable. Great experience. Be back to restock for your trip home in a couple of days.

We stopped in during a day trip from Lake Norman, and Jennifer was very polite and welcoming. She shared some helpful knowledge about the wines, which made the experience even better. Overall, a great experience—10 out of 10.

If you are ever in the area this is a must stop for all your wine needs! I stopped by and did a tasting. The Blackberry is my favorite. The Ladies doing the tasting was very nice and welcomed me in and it was a great experience and they told me there will be a cherry coming soon I can't wait to go back to try it.

For years I purchased wine from the Smokey Mountain Winery and was pleased. I enjoyed it so much I made center pieces with the wine and let guest take it home as a gift from a wedding. The last case I purchased was 1/2 spoiled and the other half was fine. They would not take the spoiled half back. They blamed me for leaving it in the sun, which I did not. I know better. This past December my husband and I purchased 4 bottles and they are all bad. I do not recommend this winery any longer. This wine was purchased and we headed north home. It never reached over 40 degrees. The winery has lost its luster and they do not stand behind the product. I hate to hurt a small business but I also hate to lose my hard earned money. Beware.

Do not waste your time here. Rudest experience I’ve ever had at a business. Woman behind the counter is extremely rude. Read the google reviews, the woman clearly has an issue.

Woman behind the counter is extremely rude. Seems like a miserable person.

Spend your money elsewhere

The min you walk in it seems like they have not dusted or renovated since the 80’s. Smells like black mold. not to mention No bathrooms. No place to sit and have a glass just able to buy and do a very small communion size taste. also taste like communion wine. very disappointing. The Lady who waited on us would not stop talking g and nothing she said added up. Sounded like she was making up everything. actually bought her up in a few lies. . . Would not recommend.

it was fine. the woman who did our tasting was very knowledgeable, but talked a lot so it took awhile. she claimed they have the only true rose that exists in the world and i just don’t believe that. she also tried to get us to buy a wine opener saying that a normal one wouldn’t work on their bottles. well we didn’t buy one and the one we had at home worked just fine. seems like a gimmick to me. she refused my husband’s ID, which i understand because you can refuse anyone if you feel they are underage, but my husband has a vertical ID and hasn’t gotten a new one. so if you have a vertical ID you’re out of luck. my husband felt undermined that she kept calling him ‘adorable,’ he’s a 25 year old man. overall we got a bottle of wine because we did like it, but if you want a tasting, go somewhere else. elkmont winery on the strip is fantastic

How do they have four stars??? Reading all the reviews I was relieved to learn it wasn’t just me the woman at the desk was rude to. I cannot fathom how this place stays open with so many bad reviews about one employee. She’s shockingly rude- especially for someone trying to sell something!! Bless her heart!

The lady was rude the moment I walked in. Not a Hi welcome or anything “ stink face “ the moment I walked in. Bought 3 bottles of wine and had to ask for a bag ( nett ) to carry and travel back home for them!
Thank god the wine wasn’t for me or I wouldn’t have bought any! You got the energy you deserved lady. Keep your nose up in the air! Rudest encounter I met on my whole week here!!! Everyone else everywhere friendly, smiling and welcoming… oh and the Apple Barn winery is not closed and they were offended when I told them. Spent hundreds of dollars worth there!
Don’t even want to give ONE STAR!!!
