“The gentlemen behind the counter were pleasant and helpful. We got two of the plates, and while they said it would be a ten minute wait, I do not believe it took more than five or six.

My daughter got the shrimp with regular sauce, and I got the crab & lobster with spicy sauce. When I asked if the sausage was pork, was told it was, so I told my daughter she could have mine. The lovely gentleman said he could substitute two eggs for the sausage instead.

I want everyone to know that the spicy sauce was truly DELICIOUS! It was just the right amount of heat without being distracting or overpowering, and the taste was phenomenal! After reading the great reviews, we drove down from Soddy, and it will NOT be the last time we make that drive.

The amazing flavors were well cooked into every bite, and the portion size was enough for both of us to have leftovers tomorrow.

They do have seating for four, but it appears to be mostly take out business. There was a TV in the customer area, and there was good music playing while we waited. It was absolutely worth the wait to get back home!

“I’m from Maryland and my family mentioned this food truck. I stopped by with my mother for the ribeye tray and strawberry lemonade. When we opened our food we noticed the shrimp wasn’t there. It was a distance , so we didn’t go back. I recommend checking your plate before you leave. The food tasted scrumptious. I would order this takeout again. For 2 plates and 2 lemonades it was $91. It was pricey. Maybe they can offer someone to bring your food to your car since there was not eating seating to wait for food or a system that let you know your food was ready. You had to keep going up to see if your food was ready.“

“during the floods last week I decided to try it, despite it pouring down raining, ordered a bag to go, I SPECIFICALLY said no pork sausage in it (health reasons) I get all the way home and guess what's in it? 😡 So I had to give it away, I called them and the young lady apologized and said if I bring it back (30 min drive in floodwaters) she would give me another, or if I came in later she would replace it. I came in today (with receipt) to get it and the manager told me she could only give me a 25% discount. The service is bad and the food is mediocre never again.“

“My husband and I went to Carrabba's at the Hamilyon Place location in TN. We went for lunch and we did not have to wait, the service was great. The food is very delicious. I ate fettuccine Alfredo, it was nice and hot. Very good. I recommend Carrabba's it is delicious.“

“Pretty good. Not overly crowded, but there was only one waitress. She was good but a bit overworked so difficult to get things just right or timely. The dressing for the Caesar salad is very anchovy heavy. My husband liked it, but I could not eat it. The crabcakes were delicious. We ordered a side, but it never came. We had a lemon coconut dessert and it was flavorless; neither one of us ate it after the first bite. I guess the crabcakes saved our whole experience because they were quite good.“

“Firebirds 🔥 is our favorite spot. Great place to go for special occasions, they are always generous with a special dessert. Food is deliciously amazing, service is top shelf, ambiance is really great and we love Don, the manager! He's always busy keeping everything running perfectly and has a smile remembering us. “Oh buddy, buckle up, because I’m about to sing the praises of El Metate in Signal Mountain, Tennessee like it’s the grand finale at a fireworks show.

If you’ve ever said, “I could really go for some tacos that make me question everything I thought I knew about joy,” then El Metate is where you need to be. I walked in expecting a regular ol’ Mexican meal. I walked out feeling like I’d been hugged by a mariachi band and kissed on the forehead by a warm flour tortilla.

Let’s talk chips and salsa first. They come out faster than your cousin Gary at a NASCAR race, and they do not play around. The chips are fresh, crispy, and clearly made by someone who respects the sacred geometry of the tortilla. The salsa? Spicy enough to make you feel alive, but not so spicy you need a medic. It’s the kind of salsa that makes you nod after the first bite and say, “Oh yeah. We’re gonna be friends.”

Now, the food. Sweet mercy. I got the fajitas, and when they brought them out, the whole restaurant turned to stare like a soap opera twist had just happened. Sizzling, steaming, making sounds like a Fourth of July sparkler—if fajitas had a theme song, mine were playing it. And the portions? Let’s just say I had leftovers and zero regrets.

My wife got the enchiladas and made sounds I usually only hear when she’s watching Hallmark movies and someone finds love in a small-town Christmas tree farm. The rice was fluffy, the beans were comforting, and everything on the plate had the audacity to be delicious.

Service? Impeccable. Friendly without being fake. Our waiter remembered our drink order and gave me extra guac without judging me. That’s the kind of hospitality that deserves a parade.

El Metate is the kind of place where you can bring your kids, your grandparents, your in-laws, your mailman, and they’ll all leave smiling and full. Heck, bring someone you don’t like—they’ll probably forgive you after a plate of chimichangas.

So if you’re on Signal Mountain and not eating at El Metate, what are you even doing with your life? Put down whatever sad sandwich you were planning on and get yourself to taco heaven. Just be warned: you’ll think about those fajitas in the shower for the next three days.“

Only thing that I could remotely complain about is there where no sun shades for the windows but truly isn't a big thing.
