“We had a wonderful dinner here. We tried 35 North and left after sitting for a long period and being ignored by staff to even take our drink order. We wandered across the street to Elkmont and had a superlative experience. Wow. We sat at the chef’s bar. We had numerous staff waiting on us with exceptional professionalism. I haven’t service like that in a long time. Kenna, our server, was simply amazing. The food was delicious. We will be back.“

“My wife, our 3-year-old daughter, and I stopped in today for a late lunch while visiting Knoxville from Ooltewah (Chattanooga). We're always on the lookout for great spots to eat, and this place did not disappoint. While there was a bit of a wait from ordering to getting our food, we weren’t in a rush—and it was absolutely worth it. My wife did also make the comment that she read that everything here was cooked fresh from ordering. Our server was friendly, attentive, and gave us fantastic recommendations after asking a few thoughtful questions. We ended up loving everything we ordered. As we were eating, we overheard another customer commenting on how good the food was and how busy it had been earlier—it was around 2-3 p.m., so we figured the staff was catching their breath after the lunch rush. We’ll be back in town next week, and we’re definitely coming back here! I signed the check and left it at the table, as we had to hit the road back to Ooltewah and didn’t get the chance to properly thank our server. She was excellent, and we truly appreciated her service. We hope to see her again when we're back next week.“

“We had lunch mid week. Excellent service from greeter to server. Manager cruised through to check on us. We requested an entree only served at dinner and the chef graciously accommodated. Food was outstanding. Shrimp and grits were perfect. Lobster crab cakes presentation was as good as the taste. I’m from the Gulf Coast and very picky about seafood. The crab bisque was delicious as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“My mom and I finally got to visit the restaurant today and loved everything! The crab cake and the tiger shrimp appetizer was our favorite! Highly recommend the crab cake. We had the ribeye and it was also really good. And the chocolate cake is amazing. I recommend this place and can’t wait to come back! “First time eating at SmashCity and it was ALL good. Great service and great food. The spicy smash burger had just enough heat but not too much. Great crispness to the edges of the burgers. I really enjoyed the overall flavor. The fries were just right - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.“

“I tried this restaurant simply because it was close to my work. It was so good that I wasn't even mad when I got back to the office and had received grilled chicken, mixed veggies, and a spinach salad instead of the salmon, Brussel sprouts, and sweet potatoes that I ordered. I've eaten there twice since then.. everything I've had had been fresh and delicious! Can't wait to take my family soon!“

“We were here celebrating Fathers Day. We love this restaurant but I was disappointed with my 10 oz ribeye. We were there June 17, 2025. My husband ordered the 7 oz sirtion & it was much thicker & larger than my ribeye. The ribeye I was served was very thin. This is unusual for the Chophouse cause I always order the 10 oz ribeye & it is always spot on.We celebrate special occasions here & love it. The house salad is amazing. Hopefully I won’t be disappointed the next time I order ribeye. Thank you Kathy Adderholdt“

“I so appreciate that this restaurant is celiac-friendly and offers to change their gloves. We’ve never had an issue with cross contamination. This is one of the only places in Knoxville my daughter can safely eat. Thank you for being (mostly) gluten free!“

“Will NEVER eat there! Served my son a ROTTEN Oyster!!! Emily Acknowledged and apologized that the oyster was rotten!! I spoke to her after the incident and she was very apologetic and wanted to make it right!! Fast forward, asked for all the receipts for his medical care and then crickets!!! Weeks later, he received a $50- gift card, what a joke!! That is NO WAY to do business!!! BEWARE!!!!“

“This place was nasty. Food isn't labeled - you have to guess what you're eating. My daughter plated Mac and cheese with a long black coarse hair in it in front of my husband and was so disgusted she didn't even want to eat anything. The "steak" is bathing in what I assume is Montreal Steak Seasoning and some type of juice. My toddler literally ate a breadstick and NOTHING else - not even Jello. I paid for our meal but regret eating here. Sorry just my opinion. Our server was WONDERFUL so I have NOTHING against her.“
