Service at 71 South was excellent, but the food could be better especially for vegan guests. The cauliflower steak had a charred outside, yet the inside was undercooked and hard, with minimal steak sauce. Vegan options rely on seasoning, and while I appreciate the offerings, I suggest boiling, searing the cauliflower or baking until soft, and enhancing it with plenty of seasoning and sauce. WOW! Really high quality food and classy beautiful location, all for a reasonable price! This is a new fave for us. Get the Brussels sprouts! Also, quinoa isn't usually something I like, but they are doing something to it that made it very craveable.Only thing I didn't like was the bahn mi, but my husband loved it. It's just more of a fusion cuisine take on a bahn mi and so I can't fault them for that.

I didn't dine at the restaurant this time, but I visited the bar and the staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the creative reuse of a historic building. It was a unique experience!
