“We had a few friends out to go to dinner at Sunda. To start this review, Mario and Justin were awesome. It really seems like the staff works very well with Mario and has a good time. Our group gave a some creative license on the food to Justin, who was serving us. The whole experience was one of a kind and truly exceptional. We had a few bottles of wine and some of the sake. Everyone at the table enjoyed what Mario, the manager, suggested for appetizers. We started off with some interesting sushi, spicy edamame, and shishito peppers. One creation called the Great White was beyond belief. Try it if you are in. A few more sushi creations went around the table were the salmon crudo, the yuzu tuna, the tuna truffle pizza, and the smoke show (which was a cool little presentation). My wife had the Tom Yum Sea Bass which was short of amazing. I had the pancit canton with chicken, which was the simplest of all of the adult dishes. Justin brought out a huge "boat" of sushi for one of my friends. It was probably one of the most adventurous and tasty sushi dishes I have ever seen. If you have kids, you know it means a ton when your child really loves their dinner. Mario suggested a salmon bento box, of which the kid loved every bite. The lychee mochi ice cream was a great dessert to end with. Mario sat with us for a few discussing the food and my child trusted his opinion on food so much she tried her first, second and third salmon nigiri! To finish we had the Ube pie and the bibingka cake because I like Ube and Filipino food. The pie was great but the bibingka cake took the show. It had an amazing flavor profile. The service was probably the best I have ever had. The staff's knowledge of the menu and what will pair well was on point. We cannot wait to go back after the holidays! Billy Dec did an amazing job with this restaurant and definitely has the right staff for Nashville. Be adventurous with your food and enjoy your experience here. You will not regret it! “My experience at Skye Lounge was enjoyable. The atmosphere is refined and inviting, while the view is undoubtedly the centerpiece of the experience. The setting has a distinctive charm, and enjoying an evening against such a beautiful backdrop certainly makes the visit feel special.

I also want to offer a fair and transparent perspective on the food. We ordered the sushi boat, and while it was perfectly pleasant, it did not quite reach the level we had anticipated. If Publix sushi were the baseline, I would place it about two levels above—good and nicely presented, but not particularly remarkable. There was certainly nothing wrong with it; our expectations were simply a bit higher given the setting and price point.

Interestingly, after reading through other reviews, this seems to be a recurring sentiment. Many guests appear to praise the atmosphere and views while expressing more moderate opinions about the food. Of course, taste is subjective, and everyone’s experience may differ, but our impression was fairly consistent with that general theme.

Skye Lounge is also on the more expensive side. We spent approximately $100, which felt somewhat high when considering the food alone. However, it is important to recognize that the price reflects more than what is on the plate. You are also paying for the exceptional view, the ambiance, and the experience of being in such a beautiful setting. With that perspective, the cost feels more understandable.

Ultimately, I think Skye Lounge is best appreciated with the right expectations. The view and atmosphere are the true highlights, while the food is a pleasant complement to the experience.

I would recommend visiting at least once. For me, it would likely be a one-time experience, but one I am glad to have had. An exceptional view, an elegant atmosphere, and decent food—worth experiencing for the setting alone.“

First off “the rice is bland”? No it’s not. They make their rice that way on purpose bc they let you make your own sauces inside. You can always ask for extra teriyaki or rice sauce on the rice.
Everyone with 1 star dont understand what they are getting. This place isn’t “a restaurant with true hibachi” they have hibachi on the menu but they are more so a high end fast food restaurant. You wait for your food in 15 mins or less and it’s AFFORDABLE. This is great for people who don’t have $30 to go to hibachi like everyone else that’s seeming to make it out here and can go out to eat every week. They give a good portion. The rice bowls will always be our go to because you’re paying $9 for a bowl of teriyaki chicken and fried rice that’s makes you stuffed. Their spring rolls are to die for and most of all they are fixing EVERYONES food fresh. Stop going in here expecting hibachi restaurant. It’s just high end fast food and thank god we have that because I’m tired of only being able to afford fried food or Taco Bell.
The best part is they let you make your OWN sauces in the little fridge to the left of the cashier. Ultimately I can make my rice taste different everytime but we are regulars so we have a routine“
