“Memphis Filling Station has quickly become my favorite brewery in Memphis, and it's not just because the beer. It's the whole operation. Small-batch brewing done with real intention, staff who clearly care, and a tap list that isn't afraid to take chances.

The standout for me was the Chanclas de Abuela, a barrel-aged Hot Mexican Chocolate Imperial Stout. The barrel aging gives it a rounded, mellow depth instead of raw alcohol heat, the chocolate comes through rich and dessert-like without tipping into syrupy, and the chili brings a mellow warmth that lingers on the finish.

What keeps me coming back, though, is how the place is run. The owners and staff are conversational, knowledgable, and share an enthusiasm for good, creative beer. Free popcorn, oversized calzones, pizza, and my personal favorite, nachos. (The chips don't get soggy in 5 minutes.)

If you're visiting Memphis and looking for a brewery, put this on the top of your list. Order the Chanclas de Abuela if it's still on tap. It's worth building an evening around.“
