“I always enjoy the terrace they have a beautiful view of the river, wonderful tapas/ sharable plates, and also amazing drinks. My husband and I love date night here. I have tried most of the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Worth a visit whenever downtown. If you are lucky you will get Niki as a bartenders she is great!
Vegetarian options: All items are shareable and about 1/3 of the menu is meatless and there is a good variety of items that can be ordered without meat.
Parking: Depends on time but there is parking because the terrace is on the top floor of a hotel. It is free parking.
Wheelchair accessibility: Via hotel there is a sidewalk and elevator. No stairs“
“Where do I start!?
I first came to Cameo for date night and I was impressed with the rather vibey northern bar feel. We had a burger and two old fashioned drinks, which we both enjoyed.
The service was quick and the service was great!
I came back after the Cooper Young Fest for happy hour with my girls and was so pleased to see that they have happy hour from 4-7 EVERYDAY! The bartenders are excellent, and took great care of us. We stayed for the whole happy hour. Everything is good.
We also got fries, which I highly recommend.“
“Amazing cocktails. The bar staff is knowledgeable, love what they do, and have some great classic cocktails and inventive feature cocktails. They have a thoughtful back bar spirits selection including some great amaro brands like See the Elephant. Highly recommended for a black negroni made with mezcal, See the Elephant, Campari and grapefruit rind. Will 100% be back!“
“Did the tasting tour and had a great time! I’ve been here plenty of times for events, but never for the tour. Now I can finally cross it off my list (even though I’ll definitely be back…because, it’s me lol) The space is gorgeous, our guide was super knowledgeable, the group size was perfect, and the variety of tastings kept it interesting. Once the tour wraps, you can slide straight to their in-house cocktail bar…or go grab Gus’s Chicken across the street. IYKYK!“

“"We love to have a great time, and last night we went to One11Madison. Listen, the entertainment, the customer service, the ambiance, the cleanliness, in my opinion, are top-tier. The owner, Keith, we spoke with him, and I can assure you he valued what his patrons had to say. There’s a right way and a wrong way to deliver a message, and depending on how it’s delivered determines how it’s received. It can go good or bad. I would definitely recommend this spot to the adults on my timeline who prefer a more laidback yet sultry (upstairs) vibe. If you have to get a cocktail, we would recommend the “Black Magic.” Last night, Devin Crutcher performed, and he did a great job as always. Go out and support. Book your reservations online; if I remember correctly, the tickets for the entertainment are $30 per person, and in my opinion, it's worth it and more just for the atmosphere alone. So, thank you to Keith and your amazing team for the incredible customer service last night."“

“Review: Char Restaurant – Highland Street, Memphis | Rating: 4.5/5.0
Today, I’m sharing my experience at Char Restaurant, located on Highland Street in Memphis. This is a fine dining restaurant, and I chose it to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We made a reservation for two, and everything from the moment we arrived was smooth and welcoming.
We were seated promptly, and the atmosphere was elegant and relaxing, just as you’d expect from a fine dining establishment. The staff were courteous and professional. I don’t recall the name of our server, but he took excellent care of us throughout the evening.
🍽️ What We Ordered:
Fried Chicken (Main Course) – Served with vegetables and gravy, this dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was spot on.
Shrimp and Grits with French Fries – My friend ordered this and mentioned it was the best she’s ever had. The shrimp were well-cooked, and the grits were creamy and flavorful.
Blueberry Banana Pudding – This dessert was a delightful surprise. I had asked the server to bring it out as a birthday surprise, and he did so perfectly — bringing it out when she wasn’t looking, which made the moment even more special.
💬 Final Thoughts:
We had a wonderful time celebrating, and my friend truly enjoyed her special day. I really appreciate the hospitality and attention to detail shown by the Char team. The food, service, and ambiance all came together to create a memorable experience.
We’re definitely planning to return soon to explore more of the menu.
Overall Rating: 4.5/5.0
Thank you to the entire team at Char for making our evening so enjoyable!“

“TLDR: Cozy, country-style spot with friendly service and traditional food. The automatic 20% tip might be a dealbreaker for some.
Review for Old Whitten Tavern
Food: The menu sticks to traditional country flavors. The hashbrowns were good, though I prefer a layer of crunch, and these were soft throughout. The eggs were cooked perfectly and came with cheese as I ordered. The biscuits were thin, flat, and basic in flavor, but the country gravy had a good texture with a simple, satisfying taste. The pancake was generously sized (about 10 inches across and 1/2 inch thick) with a soft and chewy texture, though it lacked much flavor on its own. Thankfully, the syrup complemented it well. Overall, the food gives off a "like grandma used to make" vibe, focusing on simplicity over bold flavors.
Service: The service was excellent. All the staff pitched in to check on me, ensuring I was taken care of. The friendliness added to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. However, the establishment automatically adds a 20% tip to each dine-in order, regardless of the service quality. While you can add more, it feels a bit rigid—good service should earn a good tip, not have it guaranteed.
Atmosphere: The country vibe is undeniable. The interior features dark ceilings, tables, and floors, with moderate lighting during the day that feels slightly dim but cozy. With one booth and about 17 tables inside, the spacing is comfortable without feeling crowded. The outside seating allows dogs, making it a good option for pet owners. The full bar and all-day breakfast menu add to its versatility, whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. However, with only one private bathroom per gender, the morning coffee rush could be challenging.
Summary: Old Whitten Tavern offers a solid country breakfast experience with traditional flavors and a welcoming atmosphere. While the food and service were good, the automatic 20% tip policy might not sit well with those who feel tipping should reflect service quality. Still, it’s a cozy spot worth visiting, especially if you’re seeking classic, no-frills breakfast options.
Parking: The parking lot is shared with multiple other businesses, so during heavy traffic times it could be tough to find a spot near the restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: Though it has a full bar, it is very kid friendly. The bar area is smaller, opening up more to the dine in experience.“

“Stopped by before my flight and was suggested to try the cauliflower pepperoni pizza, although hesitant, I tried it. I’m so glad I did! I love pizza and this one was sooooo yummy. Seriously tasted like a regular think crust pizza. Really glad I stopped here. Was also allowed to bring it on my flight 😏“

“The Moxy Memphis is such a fun place to stay. The hotel has a great energy, from the stylish lobby to the comfortable rooms. What really stood out for us though was the service at the bar. Donna was incredible—she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, remembered our names, and mixed some of the best cocktails we’ve had in a long time. She turned a good trip into a memorable one. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town.“

“Everything I’ve tried here is good and I’ve tried most of the menu. Their yellow curry is one of my all time comfort foods. Their sushi and hibachi are also really good. Their service is great. The staff is young but the staff that have been there a while are awesome and really take care of you. I’ve moved away and I still crave this place.“

“1st off this place was great and you better show up hungry. The portions were more than enough. We weren't expecting much but was overwhelming surprised. Our steaks were perfect and delicious best I've had from a restaurant. Loaded mashed potatoes were on point and sweet potato fries cooked to perfection. The service was amazing even though they were packed.“

“I was there for a private party. Not sure if it's a actual lounge or an event center. But it's quite large with two rooms. One has a bar and what looked like a dance floor. The second room was slightly smaller but was more than ample for the party of fifty. Could have had better lighting. I would recommend it to someone needing a nice place for a get together.“

“Kahlil and Branden were truly professional waiters. Provided a great atmosphere for me and my colleagues at our dinner. Branden was very enthusiastic and made us laugh with his charisma. Kahlil had good recommendations and I was able to try some new dishes with his input. Food was well seasoned and good portion sizes. I had the mushroom wellington and my husband had the pork chop. Both were good. My friend has the burger which was also good. Lamb rack could be cut through without a knife, very tender.“

“My partner and I had great fun visiting this rooftop while we were in Memphis. We went on a sunday afternoon/evening and this seemed to coincide with a DJ event which was clearly a popular event with the locals. It made for a really vibrant atmosphere and we enjoyed the music whilst watching a brilliant sunset.
Would recommend if you're in the area!“

“Service is great when you can get a seat, but they are often super packed! Drinks are pricey, but that’s to be expected somewhere like the Peabody. The lemon drop martini is a fav of mine here. The apps are also delicious! For gluten-free options, I like the hummus or cheese board with extra crudités instead of crackers/bread!“

“Stopped at notes and provisions restaurant to eat breakfast every morning during my stay at the Crowne plaza hotel definitely I think the buffet style breakfast is an awesome idea there could be a few minor little things added to it for the price of $10 but if it continues like it is $7 is a very reasonable fee for people to totally eat up an awesome breakfast and the person that was helping to set things up and serve omelets and take care of people is got a really great personality and she's doing a great job and she totally could succeed with so much more with just a little help and it would be an awesome experience to have again thank you“
