“Normally I get enchiladas or something I've had many times. Decided to try the Shrimp A La Diabla and I was shocked. Best "BBQ" sauce on those shrimp ever. I could've drank a pint of that stuff. Will definitely try again some day.“
“First off, I would like to give a big shout out to all the crew at Gallo Loco for their gracious hospitality during my visit. I arrived just 35 minutes before closing and was treated wonderfully. The food was on point with hefty portions that allowed a full meal of leftovers. Thanks so much again, I look forward to my next visit!“
“Best Mexican food I have had in a long time, and it came out hot in no time at all. The building design is very cool and unique too. The booths are kinda inset, so I felt like the server was sneaking up on me and every time I had my mouth full lol. Overall great “
“The place was packed and we still got good food at good time at a better price than other places in Knoxville. The only thing is the waiter that was a bit mad probably because of how much people were there but it’s understandable. Good experience overall ??.“
“The food was very good and the service was great. My only complaint is that on Saturday they have no lunch specials. Usually that is not a big deal. In this care though it takes off almost half of their menu. There is an entire page of combos that are unavailable because it is the weekend. You end up paying away too much just to eat lunch and lose much of the variety. I will say that the food, presentation, and service is excellent. We will be back, but if we go on the weekend, it will be for dinner.Edit: Just found out you can order the lunch menu on Saturday for an extra $1. I wish we would have known that when we were there! Thank you for the correction, Barrios.“
“Wow! This is the second time I've picked up food from this restaurant, and I'm impressed! I grew up in Southern California, so I know good authentic Mexican food when I see it, and Zandunga has good food! The first time I ordered, I got a few items from the lunch menu. The chips and salsa were good. The refried beans were a little different, redder and creamier with good Mexican rice. There are other choices for the sides as well. The entrees were tasty.Today, I ordered the Mole Mexicana. What a good choice! It reminded me of meals I've had in the city of Orange, California with the rich mole sauce over with grilled onions, poblanos and pulled chicken along with flour tortillas. I am so thrilled that Oak Ridge has a REAL Mexican restaurant, and we will be going back again and again. I missed the location at first because it is in a strip mall next to Hobby Lobby, but I won't forget about it now. I highly recommend my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Knoxville area to anyone passing through.Update 2-11-24: Two years later, my husband and I stopped by for dinner. The salsa was thick and spicy and the mango margaritas were delicious served in beautiful hand-blown glasses. I very much enjoyed my mole chicken. This Mexican restaurant is still way above average.“
“DosBros is a great option if you've got some extra money lining your pocket and you're itching for some great Mexican food. Service is a little lacking, but it's mostly the language barrier for some of the servers. It's also great for hanging out with my classmates. Would definitely recommend!“
“Seems that there have been some changes, no shrimp, but it looked like they added chorizo. In any case, it was great. I still love this place, and it is a go-to for a lower carb quick bite (burrito bowl, no rice or beans, add meat, and all the veggies).Vegetarian options: By selecting what is in your meal, vegetarian is fairly easy.Dietary restrictions: Keto selections are possible. Make it your way and cut the carbs.“
“A pleasant surprise. As I walked in I instantly felt like I was back in South Texas. Like so many of the border bodegas, this place has a little bit of everything. Snack, supplies, fresh cut meat, and, of course, the food. The tacos and tortas are above average, and the molcajete may just be the best in/around Oak Ridge. We’ll definitely be back.“
“This is definitely the BEST Mexican restaurant in Oak Ridge! Food is so terrific and fresh! The servers are clean and attractive! The place is super clean! And the owner was the dishwasher at the old Cancuns in 1992! So glad he brought it back!“
