“This is our absolute favorite neighborhood spot! We are so lucky that Nick (the chef and owner) moved to Nashville cause otherwise our neighborhood would absolutely suck. “Cool little spot with good food and some interesting dishes. We tried several different things and had a pretty good experience overall.

We started with the bao buns, fries, and fried dumplings. The bao buns had a little too much mayo for my taste, but they were good overall. The dumplings were different than what I was expecting, but really good. The fries were... well, fries. 😂 Nothing special there.

For our entrées, we got the Pad Kra Pow, which is Thai minced beef stir fried with chili, garlic, and basil, served with rice and a fried sunny side up egg. It was good and had a nice amount of spice, but I felt like it was missing some kind of sauce on the side, maybe soy sauce or another Asian style sauce. I think that would have added a little something extra to the dish.

Our other entrée was the Noodles, which are biang biang hand pulled noodles with chili cumin brisket, trumpet mushrooms, and yu choy. Basically, it’s one long, continuous noodle that comes with a pair of scissors so you can cut it into pieces as you go. This dish was mouth numbingly spicy, but SO good. It was easily my favorite thing we had all night.

Overall, I’d definitely go back if I were in the area. I would absolutely get the Noodles again, but I’d probably skip the other dishes we tried and would want to try some new things instead. Definitely a cool spot worth checking out if you’re looking for something a little different!“

“We went for our anniversary, the very first restaurant I’ve ever been to that actually acknowledged it after asking at the reservation! The staff was awesome! The waitress was friendly, attentive and was just perfect! The food was outstanding with portion sizes just a little bit bigger than we could eat which I like, not so much I have to take half home. And the best part was when our waitress brought out a dessert and wished us a happy anniversary! It was a perfect chocolate covered chocolate mousse, perfect size for us to share! We’ll definitely be going back!“

“My husband & I had this on a list of places to try. We went for a lunch date, it was great service, food was cooked fresh & everything was clean. We both got 2 different bowls and loved them both, definitely recommend and we will be back. Going to take the kids as well.“

“We had a few friends out to go to dinner at Sunda. To start this review, Mario and Justin were awesome. It really seems like the staff works very well with Mario and has a good time. Our group gave a some creative license on the food to Justin, who was serving us. The whole experience was one of a kind and truly exceptional. We had a few bottles of wine and some of the sake. Everyone at the table enjoyed what Mario, the manager, suggested for appetizers. We started off with some interesting sushi, spicy edamame, and shishito peppers. One creation called the Great White was beyond belief. Try it if you are in. A few more sushi creations went around the table were the salmon crudo, the yuzu tuna, the tuna truffle pizza, and the smoke show (which was a cool little presentation). My wife had the Tom Yum Sea Bass which was short of amazing. I had the pancit canton with chicken, which was the simplest of all of the adult dishes. Justin brought out a huge "boat" of sushi for one of my friends. It was probably one of the most adventurous and tasty sushi dishes I have ever seen. If you have kids, you know it means a ton when your child really loves their dinner. Mario suggested a salmon bento box, of which the kid loved every bite. The lychee mochi ice cream was a great dessert to end with. Mario sat with us for a few discussing the food and my child trusted his opinion on food so much she tried her first, second and third salmon nigiri! To finish we had the Ube pie and the bibingka cake because I like Ube and Filipino food. The pie was great but the bibingka cake took the show. It had an amazing flavor profile. The service was probably the best I have ever had. The staff's knowledge of the menu and what will pair well was on point. We cannot wait to go back after the holidays! Billy Dec did an amazing job with this restaurant and definitely has the right staff for Nashville. Be adventurous with your food and enjoy your experience here. You will not regret it! “Absolutely delicious! Outside patio dining had a wonderful atmosphere for our wedding anniversary meal. The waiter brought out the wrong dish for my husband, but as soon as we brought it to their attention it was quickly corrected. Just be aware that the chili flake topping is an extra $1 & they also charge for the pickles on top of the curry bowl as well, which we thought was interesting because it was never mentioned beforehand. “First off, let me start with the service. The staff were welcoming and kind. The inside decor was clean and the vibe was inviting. A true hidden gem, this place had barely anyone inside but anyone who entered couldn’t help but smile and have fun as they were being treated by servers with infectious smiles and positive attitudes. Now onto our next subject. The food… My goodness did the food come out quick and they did not sacrifice quality food for good service either. The Crab Rangoon might have been the best appetizer I have ever eaten. It came out in a mere two minutes after ordering and then the main dish I had was Teriyaki Chicken and fried rice. The fried rice was soft, sweet and hot. Everyone needs to visit Poy Thai, I left with a new type of joy I have never felt before. When Jesus comes back He needs to visit Poy Thai.“

I just stumbled across this spot and when I asked the chef if he could accommodate a severe gluten allergy, he was super knowledgeable with each ingredient, mindful of cross contamination, and asked questions to double check that things like mayo and sriracha were GF. Excellent service, prices, and the rolls were delicious. So excited to have a new sushi spot where I won’t get glutened!“
