Since its opening, The Local Goat has been the go-to overnight stop on our I-75 North/South trek. Initially this was because the restaurant was next to our hotel, but now we stop because of the great food.

This bistro-style spot offers good food and quality ingredients, some of which are locally sourced. The food is 10/10, with guests enjoying the smokehouse burger with caramelized onion mashed potatoes, bison burger, and burgers praised as "really great." Other menu highlights include cheese fondue, stuffed peppers, and onion rings, though some found the onion rings too thick. Drinks are generous with alcohol, such as green tea shots and lemon drop shots. Service is terrific; one server was very engaging and super nice, while another was really nice with great timing, fast, and helpful recommending other spots. The atmosphere is nice inside, very inviting, with comfy booths. While most experiences are positive, one diner was disappointed by a .50 cent charge for a shot glass sampler of new bourbon ale beer on top of a $70 meal. Overall, this place lives up to the hype, and many look forward to returning.
