“My sister and I stopped by Jeannie's Cakes after being offered a sample from the owner. He was so engaging and shared a heartfelt story about the namesake, Grandmother Jeannie. You can tell that he loves what he does and it certainly shows through his hospitality and delicious desserts. I recommend anyone stop by, you're in for a treat!“

“One of the best hidden gems I've been to. It's in the corner of a complex and their pastries-OMG they're literally perfect. Not super sweet, great prices, and it's always clean. I'm assuming it's Japanese owned, but the workers there are really nice and will tell you all about the pastries if you have any questions. I also love that the prices are not crazy. They're so well made for such a great price. I would come here again and again if having sweets all the time was healthy.“

I order my little cousin bday cake back in Nov and never saw a kid so happy with his cake. The cake was really tasty and frosting was to die for. Everyone enjoy they cake adults and kids to. It was perfect and Bianca truly works for you!“

“We used Bavarian Cakery for our wedding and we were so happy with them! We had brownies, tiramisu cups, and a 4 tier cake all f which were delicious. We wanted the cake design to be simple and elegant and they executed perfectly with helpful design tips. All communication throughout the process was thorough and very helpful, and the delivery day of went off without a hitch!“

“Good Vietnamese iced coffee, but for 5 bucks I got 3 sips and am left with a cup packed full of chipped ice... bakery items look amazing and my coworker loved his iced americano, which came with regular ice cubes and was well portioned for the price. Next time I will ask for regular ice, and try some pastry :)“

“The Veruca salt cake is totally worth $61.50 (for 8" as of March 2024). It's described as "devil's food cake paired with salted caramel buttercream, pretzel crunch and Valrhona Caramelia crunchy pearls". The cake was well balanced, not too sweet, and had really great texture. This is a cake that I definitely cannot make myself at home at my current skill level. It was too perfect! I really appreciated the neat hand writing. You are allowed three words... generally it's "Happy Birthday (Name)". The baker wrote it much neater than I can do with a pencil or pen. Well done! It's controversial, but I wasn't a huge fan of an automatic gratuity of 15 percent and being asked twice to tip online, especially before receiving the cake or experiencing the service. It can be manually adjusted whatever value you prefer, but I rather the employee's wages be fairly baked into the price - just personal preference. We bought some day-old cookies for a discounted price. No regrets there! We enjoyed every bit of it! No vegan options (currently) for those who live that life style - sorry! If you want the cake, you must order in advance. I ordered the day before. Just do it! You'll love it!“

“Immediately when I asked my Houston friends what bakery to visit, they all said Six Ping. Truly a mom and pop shop, an elder woman ( I assume the owner) greeted me when I walked in in Mandarin. Some regulars definitely loyal to the shop. Clean, affordable, large selection and most importantly...DELICIOUS. Soft buttery bread on each bite and they don't skimp on the topping or fillings. Lost a star because the cashier was so incredibly rude when my card had to be run again, and yelled at me in Mandarin and then asked if my card was even real? Will always continue to support local, but rude service isn't necessary.“

“Staff are so kind and accommodating and all of their baked goods are awesome. I’ve been a customer for a while. This week I ordered this letter cake for my brother. Their pricing is a steal compared to other shops and they did not disappoint. The cake was fresh, beautiful, and delicious. We added the chocolate liqueurs ourselves. Highly recommended!!“

“Fantastic desserts. Our favorites are the gelato, chocolate mousse and macarons. Our kids think these are the best macarons and gelato in the city. Palmier was not good, wouldn’t recommend. Prices are high though and basically only parking option is valet. The short term parking is almost always taken up by valet which is frustrating.“

“I recently visited Paris Sweet, a delightful French-inspired cafe in Houston, Texas, and it was a delightful experience. The service was incredibly friendly, making me feel like a valued guest from the moment I walked in.Now, let's talk about the food. Their croissants were flaky, buttery perfection, transporting me straight to a Parisian boulangerie. The macarons were equally impressive, with a delicate crunch giving way to a burst of flavor with every bite. The charming ambiance and attention to detail in the decor added to the overall experience. Paris Sweet is a must-visit for anyone in Houston looking to savor a taste of France with a warm Texan welcome. I’ll be back.“
“Wow! They have a delicious spinach quiche. The crust was perfectly crispy and the filling was super moist and it was not salty like other bakeries. Unfortunately, they were out of their almond croissant when we visited. We will definitely go back for trying their other pastries in our next visit in TX, Houston.“
“Located in the Kim Son plaza but there are already so many Six Pings in Chinatown like come on. This location doesn't have as much ready to-go cakes as the one in the Dun Huang Plaza. You can see a difference in the quantity of customers in both locations. This one is not as busy but they are fully stocked in their breads and pastries. I do like this location because it's the closest to where I live and the parking is easier to find.“

“This place delivers sweet treats without overpowering you with sugar! We came here for dessert and every piece of dessert we had was light and satisfying! We even tried the ube gelato and loved it! Quick and friendly service! Not a really a sit down place so make sure you take it to go. Chill vibe that's enough to meet the needs. We even bought a piece for my aunt and she loved it!“
“Six Ping has some of the best pastries! They have a large variety ranging from bread, to macarons, cake, and even coffee! It's a very nostalgic place for me and most likely many Asian Americans in the community. It's a very memorable place with great consistency and quality of their goods. I highly recommend this bakery.“

“My obsession began with the black forest cake but everytime I go, I try something new. You're in for a treat (both sweet and unsweet)! Beautifully crafted and airy! The owner and staff are completely professional and customer service oriented...I pulled up 5 minutes till close, lights turned off...the owner saw me and turned the lights back on so I could get my beloved chocolate tart! I genuinely hope this new location will increase profits! They really are exquisite and I wish for this business to boom!“

“It is a huge panderia. You can get everything here. We got a mix of pan dulce, Bolillo rolls, jalapeno and ham pastry, tamales, and a drink. The tortillas are made fresh. Everything is so tasty. The staff is friendly. The cakes look amazing.Update: my son wanted conchas from El Bolillo for his birthday, and they produced gorgeous colorful blue and green conchas for his birthday. We also picked up Earth day donuts and cookies. Everyone was excited to eat and celebrate my son's birthday and Earth Day. Thank you, El Bolillo!!!!“
