“My wife and I went there for dinner. I'd seen some reviews and videos about the place. It was around 8:30 pm, so we decided to have a late dinner. We ordered some crab stick, scallops, Iwa Ya roll, gyoza, and dragon roll. All for about $30. They have free iced tea, red bean dessert, and free soup. It was perfect for two people. If you haven't visited this place and you're in Chinatown in Houston, try it if you're in the mood for sushi.“

“We stopped by Hayashi Hibachi & Sushi while passing through Houston, and overall it was a really good experience. The restaurant was quiet, and the service was quick, which we appreciated.
I ordered the yellowtail jalapeño — I get this every chance I get at sushi spots — and this one did NOT disappoint. 10/10 recommend. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.
The spicy girl roll was good, but I expected a bit more heat. It definitely tasted better once I paired it with soy sauce. The tempura tuna didn’t have a ton of flavor on its own, but again, soy sauce helped bring it together.
The gyoza was my only real complaint. It was a little doughy for my liking and could’ve used a bit more crisp or texture.
The hibachi steak was solid — I’d give it about a 7/10. Good, but not the standout of the meal.
Overall, everything was good, service was fast, and I’d definitely come back — especially for that yellowtail jalapeño.“

“Went here for my oldest daughters birthday. As soon as we walked twords the hibachi my youngest with special needs panicked at the sounds and I’m assuming remembered the fire from last time. I had to sit off to the side where Vivian was so kind to me bringing me a menu so I could still pick out my food. My daughter was so worked up she was talking very loud and everyone was so kind to her, talking to her and giving her high fives! I asked for ice cream to try and calm her down and get her to sit down with our family and they were so quick to get it and bring it out. I realized she wasn’t going to go for it to which the staff seated me and my daughter off to the side where we could still eat. All of the waitress kept coming by checking on us and chatting with my daughter. As a special needs mom I worry about this kind of thing happening and how people would react. It completely warmed my heart to have the whole staff of the restaurant be so kind and accommodating!“

“OVERPRICED & OVERCHARGED - nothing different than the local Japanese steakhouse restaurants & I still came out smelling like garlic butter 😏. We told the waitress we all wanted fried rice with our meals... only to be charged for chicken fried rice 😠“
