“New to the area and dined in for the first time to check it out last week. While dropping of a package at the UPS store, I could smelled the delicious food that tasted even better than it smelled. The lemon drop martini was an added bonus. Definitely going back for the hibachi 😋“

“I come to Shogun a lot but what I love the most is the CUSTOMIZED experience! Angel is one of the bestttttt chef. Honestly I had him once when I first came & EVERY time I come, I ONLY request him. His hospitality. His kindness & the way he interacts with my child. I just enjoy the entire experience. Recently I met Dayan, I had NO idea he was a manager. I never got a drink from here so I sat at the bar to wait for Angel to get off break & I requested a lemon drop. Let’s just say I’m here now the VERY NEXT DAY for another lemon drop. You can’t even taste the liquor but after ONE drink I’m there. Catherine serves me. She’s one of the BEST servers. I love the fact I can choose the server & choose the chef I want to prepare my food. I’m guaranteed a great experience. I love everything about Shogun & I’m just so happy. I love on Kuykendahl so I always stop by to enjoy. Tonight I’ll be trying sushi for the first time ever!! “From the time we walked in there til the time we left, everything was absolutely amazing. Even the couple who sat near us bragged about the same things that we did. Jay was amazing and very accommodating. Unfortunately, I didn't get the hibachi cook's name, but he was just as amazing. The portions were plentiful and cooked to perfection. I don't mean to sound commercial and all. It's just that you can't find good food AND service at the same time. I hope it stays that way. My husband said the visit there just added to his already good Father's Day! I hope things remain the same here!“

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on Saturday, and it was a great experience. The restaurant was nice and quiet, which made for a relaxing meal. We’ve been coming here for years but hadn’t visited in over two years, so it was exciting to see that the food quality is still outstanding.

Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We especially loved the spicy scallop and tuna hand rolls — always a favorite! The bento boxes were warm, generous, and full of flavor, and the miso soup was comforting and perfectly seasoned.

Service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out quickly. It’s great to know this place continues to deliver consistently high quality. We’ll definitely be back again soon!“

“Our decision to try Sakekawa stemmed from a recommendation on the "I Love Conroe" Facebook group, sparking our curiosity. However, our experience was a little mixed. While the hibachi dishes left much to be desired – with fishy-tasting soup, mediocre fried rice, and average steak – the sushi, particularly the fish's size and quality, earned high praise from my husband, a Tokyo native. Yet, inconsistencies in rice texture across rolls and the unappetizing presentation of rice spilling from the sides marred the sushi experience. The restaurant's ambiance was undeniably beautiful, but the unsightly vents on the ceiling detracted from its overall appeal. Moreover, our encounter with the manager, Kristie, soured the experience further. Despite making a reservation, navigating the nuances of hibachi dining on OpenTable proved challenging, leading to an unpleasant interaction with Kristie upon arrival. Her demeanor lacked hospitality, and her approach to handling reservations felt unwelcoming and unnecessary. Despite these setbacks, the allure of high-quality sushi draws us back, albeit to the alternative location to bypass any potential encounters with Kristie. Sakekawa may have its flaws, but for sushi aficionados seeking top-notch fish, it remains a contender in The Woodlands’ sushi scene.“

“We’ve been searching for a Japanese Hibachi restaurant that won’t break the bank. We ordered for hubby and I and our 4yr old son who enjoyed the experience. We all got full and had enough left over for lunch the following day. The food at this restaurant was wonderful, everything cooked to perfection, the taste was so yummy. Everything was very clean and in a nice little area with security. Will definitely be coming back, it’s our spot now :)“
