“My family loves food! This place did not disappoint. Everything was amazing, from the guacamole to the beef and chicken fajitas, and I must admit we all enjoyed the Margarita and Mambo Taxi. My sister and I both love tamales, and their pork tamales were delicious. So, even if you're just driving through Allen Texas stop here and have lunch.

Parking: Definitely park in the parking garage and walk to the restaurant. Plus, there are lots of shops to look at on the way

Walking into Chepa’s Mexican Grill, I was ready for a good meal and some quiet time with my book. The restaurant had the typical vibrant decor you’d expect from a Mexican spot—warm colors, rustic accents, and a lively atmosphere. The menu seemed extensive, offering everything from seafood dishes to enchiladas, making it a solid choice for a variety of cravings.

However, my experience with the hostesses was less than welcoming. They initially tried to seat me at a small two-seater by the bar, which felt cramped and not ideal for enjoying a meal and reading. When I asked for a different table, they seemed hesitant but eventually cleaned one off. It wasn’t the best first impression, but I was willing to move past it.

Thankfully, my server more than made up for it. They were incredibly attentive, checking in at just the right moments and ensuring I had everything I needed. Their friendly attitude and great service really elevated the experience.

For appetizers, I went with the stuffed jalapeños. These things were massive—stuffed with cream cheese, wrapped in crispy bacon, and full of flavor. But one of them? It had me questioning my life choices. The heat was intense, almost tear-inducing, but if you like spicy food, you’ll appreciate the kick.

The highlight of the meal was the tortilla soup. It was everything you want in a comforting bowl—rich, flavorful broth, big chunks of tender chicken, melted cheese, and crispy tortilla strips. It had that perfect balance of heartiness and warmth that makes tortilla soup such a classic.

Despite the rocky start, the food itself was solid, and the menu has enough variety to make me want to come back and explore more. Hopefully, next time, the seating situation will be smoother, but with great service and delicious food, I’d say it was worth the visit.“

“Very very good. We had the NorCal burrito and it was delicious. They make it so you get some of everything in each bite, not just whatever layer you happen to be able to fit in your mouth. That being said, you DO NOT need to attempt one of these solo. Plenty for two people. They are 2000+ calories so probably not the best idea to unhinge your jaw and down one of these by yourself.“

“Joshua was great but Madeleine was very rude. My wife asked for double meat but our total was rang up as extra meat +extra meat for 4.80 extra. I said why is it on the twice and they said it was four scoops. My wife didn't ask for that so I said either take it off or remake it at the price we understood. Joshua was remaking it asked what was wrong with the first one and was astounded that they wouldn't have resolved it by just removing one of the charges and comping the other one. He walked back down to ask and Madeline took the other bowl to the back of the restaurant instead of just tossing it in the trash. It was all very weird but Madeline was a constant source of conflict and rudeness. My wife had to wait to have them remake food while my family had already started eating. “Amazing al pastor tacos, crazy how you can get 10 for $14 in this economy. Some of the best tacos ive had, most authentic tasting with good flavor and good price. I've been to many taquerias including salsa verde, but none have compared to the value and taste here. The salsas were amazing!! I drowned my tacos in them, everything here is made fresh, I could taste the quality of the al pastor meat and the churros. I highly recommend getting the churro cajeta, (churros filled with dulce de leche caramel like filling, amazing experience)“

“I don’t know who the manager of this store is but he needs to go train the other ones in Tulsa, OK. Bueno is a hit or miss there but this is consistently good every time I go. Also the little croissant at the window was an added bonus he told me my dog was cute and she really appreciated that.“

I do a however, think they should bring back the breakfast even if it is served for less hours in the day. Their breakfast is very good, but I assume there margins were very low on the cravings box and that wasn't sustainable, still good while it lasted.“
