“Gordon Street has very good food, it’s surprisingly good and cheap. We live in Downtown Houston where everything is super expensive and usually not great. Gordon streets food is always better and always 1/2 the price. When we want to unwind and sit in the peace and quiet this is one of our favorites.“

David offered us a sample of the mocha cake and it was really good! I personally love anything coffee-flavored, especially cake, so I really enjoyed it! <3

The gentleman who helped us, Evan, choose our drinks was also incredibly sweet and patient. Both of them made the experience feel really welcoming. It's always nice when the food is good AND the people serving you are genuinely kind.

Today, we celebrated my mother-in-law's retirement from her career, as a teacher. The two bartenders were exceptionally friendly and provided excellent guidance as we selected wines. “So I have to give an honest review of my brunch experience Saturday, June 6, 2026. We mainly went and I’m not sure if this episode was a rerun or if it was new but we saw the episode of Goodtaste with Tanji that was on channel 2 that morning. Husband ordered fish tacos and I ordered a burger. Fish tacos were good and the onion rings were all good. My burger was a little dry and the service was good. But my biggest disappointment was the Bloody Mary. I saw that they had a build your own Bloody Mary option on their brunch menu but according to the waitress it’s only available on Sundays so I did not get that so I just ordered a bloody Mary. I did tell the waitress to not put celery in it since I’m not a celery person and it would just go to waste. So she brought me my Bloody Mary and all it contained was two of the poorest, looking olives that I have ever seen. I think they were even smaller than the ones that you buy at the grocery store in the jars. The waitress did notice my expression on my face when she gave it to me and she asked me what was wrong. I asked, was this all that they give with the bloody Mary? I wasn’t looking for a meal, but I’d like to squeeze a little lemon and lime in my bloody Mary . she said let me see what I can get for you. And I wish I would’ve taken a picture of this, but she brought me back a plate that had two pieces of bacon, some spicy sauce (not sure what I was supposed to do with that) and another little cup that had some sliced pickled onions (husband put those on his fish tacos) and two stalks of green onion that look like they had been sitting In pickling juice at the bottom of the jar. I will say the bloody Mary itself had great taste, great flavor, but the presentation was horrible and I’m writing this review and hoping that they see this and they step up their game.“

“I have seen four bad reviews.I think they must be talking about another place.We started going there a little over two years ago.We eat there at least once a week,sometimes twice and not on ce was there a bad meal.They have had a little trouble with Chefs as the one who had been there a long time,who.drove from Galveston every daY, left early this year He was great.The other Chef who came was ok but not successful and did not last long and I do not know if they have another permanent Chef or if the Chef's assistants are doing it at the moment.Whatever the food is always good and plenty and they have 22 beers on drought and offers on drin ks and food every day.Food is served until 10pm every night except Fri and SaT when it is 11pm aNd they are open until midnight every day except Fri and SsturdaY when it is 1am.The staff are great and the Customers are great. We have made at least 20good friends and I mean Good friends who are now close friends ,since going there.If you want grest food,great.drinks,meet nice people,this is the place.I always saY there is always an ear that will.listen and someone to laugh with.I do not understand the bad reviews of whic h I saw only four going bac to20 21.This is NOT this place.“

It was my fault I should have asked if the coleslaw was gluten-free but I never in my life would expect ramen noodles in my coleslaw. So if you are gluten-free make sure to ask or let them know.“
