I had my wedding reception earlier this summer at The Austin Club and it was a great experience. Lauren, the catering coordinator, helped turn my ideas into reality in short amount of time. She was always professional, friendly, and quick to answer questions. The ballroom itself is beautiful and historic and our friends and family really enjoyed it. The service, food, and bar were also great! I would recommend to anyone who wants a classic reception in downtown!
Enjoyable destination for the well connected and political class in Austin. It's Essentially populated by members of the state assembly and people who want to have access to them. The membership is pricey and only makes sense for those people.
The food is fair, with fairly healthy buffet style meals. Service is excellent, and tipping is not good the norm.
They rarely have music, although at times they have.
