Always family to me. Grandma is so amazing and Mary is always on top of everything. Been going for years.Edit: 1 year later. Just went on Jan. 5th 2024 and sad they are now closed permanently. The oldest in the city is now no more. Bamboo garden and Grandma will be missed.
We enjoyed our time with owners throughout the years with family atmosphere and great food. As 1/05/2024 we went there and our shock there were no cars out front and the only lights that were on was an entry light and note taped on the front stating Bamboo Gardens is closed for business we have enjoyed serving you through the years. BAMBOO GARDEN IS CLOSED. Another Austin Texas Land mark gone.

I've been going here for more than 45yrs, the food, service, people were outstanding.The Bamboo Garden restaurant used to be next door to "South40" before they moved to this spot, w/ the long haired, Malaysian waitress, Domaine. She made my roasted duck the way i loved it.No other Chinese place in Austin, will be able to replace Bamboo Garden.
