East Side King Reviews
The king of Eastern (predominantly Japanese) bites. The decor is fun and consistent. Lots of micro art and found objects are strewn about shelves and walls. For someone with a love of chicken karage and udon, this is always a welcome spot.
So glad there’s an East Side King on SoLa! Their beet fries are NEXT LEVEL— unlike anything my tastebuds have experienced before. The spicy Avocado buns are flavorful and have excellent mouthfeel. I also highly recommend the crispy fried tofu Curry! So many fresh herbs sprinkled on top add a punch of flavor. There’s plenty of seating— high tables, booths and four tops. Their food looks good, but the neighborhood takes advantage of honest people who don't know the area. East Side King offers a delightful dining experience with its diverse menu of Japanese-inspired dishes. The bento boxes are generous in size and quality, while the tuna bowl and other entrees may be smaller than expected, similar to appetizer portions. Standout menu items include the mouthwatering red chili wontons. Although the food quality remains excellent, some customers have noticed a decrease in portion sizes over time, accompanied by price increases. The restaurant's fun and consistent decor features micro art and found objects, creating a vibrant atmosphere. East Side King is a welcome spot for those with a love of Japanese cuisine, particularly chicken karaage and udon. The beet fries and spicy avocado buns are customer favorites, with the crispy fried tofu curry also highly recommended. The restaurant provides ample seating options, including high tables, booths, and four-tops. However, the parking situation can be challenging, with the adjacent lot known to aggressively tow or boot vehicles, so customers are advised to be cautious and park in the designated areas.
