Foxtail Reviews
Super elegant interior, comfortable seats, and lots of projectors creating a chill ambiance. Amazing service and tasty cocktails. Only disappointment is that the snacks menue is a bit small. Park in the garage and get your ticket validated inside at the front entrance.
Wow this may be not only my favorite Austin bar and cocktail place, but also one of my top fave Austin hangout spots with killer ambience. If you imagine a place that is both modern cosmopolitan yet with an feeling of old-fashioned 1920's charm, and add jazz music played by a live band, you that starts to give you a glimpse into this truly special concoction. This top notch location is world class in a way that I have only found 1x in Chicago and 1x in Berlin - and quite frankly...read full review

Foxtail is a stylish and inviting restaurant known for its warm, intimate atmosphere that combines art deco and Spanish flair. Located beside Mama Betty’s, the space is large yet cozy and social, making it perfect for dressing up, socializing, and lingering. The vibe is lively but not chaotic, with a crowd mostly in their late 20s to early 40s—attractive, grown, and enjoying a vibrant but relaxed scene. The decor features a modern, moody aesthetic enhanced by a cool projection system cycling vintage-inspired shots of Austin.
The staff is generally attentive and friendly, with many staff members showing professionalism, warmth, and experience. However, some reviews mention occasional overwhelmed service, though this does not detract from the overall positive experience. The bathrooms are modern, private, and immaculate, adding to the upscale feel of the place.
Foxtail offers a creative and well-crafted cocktail menu, including favorites like espresso martinis made with Tito’s and French 75s with Hendrick’s, served in ribbed coupe glasses that match the aesthetic. Drinks are balanced, smooth, and reasonably priced, with happy hour (4:30-6 pm on weekdays) offering great deals. Notable cocktails include the vixen, a mezcal, campari, passionfruit drink, and the Saint Berry, a vodka, st germain blend. The bar’s selection features unique bases like Siete Misterios Mezcal and Planteray Dark Rum.
The atmosphere is moody yet fun, ideal for date nights or casual outings with friends. The space can get a bit crowded at times, and a reservation system or hostess might improve seating flow. The bathrooms, snacks like cake balls and raviolis, and the overall experience make Foxtail a neighborhood favorite. Overall, it’s a place to enjoy good drinks, good conversations, and a lively yet relaxed environment, earning a solid 9 to 10 out of 10 rating.
