About Gabrielas Downtown

Gabriela's Downtown is a popular spot for a delicious meal with a cozy atmosphere and great views of the city line. The service is friendly and helpful, although some guests have experienced long waits, especially during busy times. The menu offers a variety of options, including the standout favorite, avocado cream enchilada with chicken tinga, and delicious Birria tacos that many love. Customers enjoy the handmade corn masa tortillas, cheesy Choriqueso, and Veggie Queso Flameado, which are all highly recommended. The carne asada street tacos come overflowing with meat, avocado, onions, and cilantro, delighting many diners.

While the inside can feel a little cramped, the super cute porch adds to the charm. The food is flavorful and satisfying, with many praising the homemade chips, queso, and puffy tacos. Guests have noted that the service can start slow but tends to improve quickly, and prices are considered very fair. The staff is kind, making it a great East Side alternative to other spots. The ambiance is often enhanced by live DJs and Latin music, creating a lively vibe, especially on weekends. The back patio is a favorite feature, adding to the overall charm of the place. Overall, Gabriela's Downtown offers classic Tex-Mex dishes done right, with plenty of tasty options to enjoy, making it a relaxing choice after a day at the beach or a fun spot for weekend brunch.

Johnathan is such a hard worker and the best. He wasn’t our server but went out of his way to make the experience great!
Enjoyed our dinner with friends. Good food and good service. Music felt a bit loud to talk over. All in all very enjoyable!
The salsas were good. The guacamole was average. The mushroom entree was good. The Carne Asada was good but salty. The tortillas were very good. The real screw up is that I ordered 2 top shelf tequilas with lime juice and simple syrup and they decided to put orange juice in them. They did give us some free churros at the end of the meal to make up for it. All in all it was expensive, the food was average and they ruined our drinks.
