First of all, I have terrible memory but our server Sheri was awesome! She was informative, attentive, timely, and sweet! She recommended their famous pancake which we'll get to soon.
I used to pass this place as a kid for years! Never went once until today at 24. The atmosphere has its charm and doesnt feel modern simple to fit today's restaurant styles. I ordered on line. One was a kid's chicken tender meal which normally comes with fries but I ordered mac n cheese. No Mac n cheese nor cream gravy with the order. That was disappointing but the tenders were very good.

Jim's Restaurant is a diner that offers a friendly and old-school atmosphere, reminiscent of a cafe or a pancake house. The service is generally good, friendly and fast with no wait time. The menu features a variety of selections, making it a great place for breakfast any time of the day, including delicious breakfast tacos and the BEST Thanksgiving Dinners to go. The prices and portion sizes are reasonable. The food is delicious and solid, particularly the pancakes, eggs always cooked to perfection, yummy biscuits, crispy bacon, and delicious chicken fried steaks and gravy. The interior could benefit from some upgrades because it's pretty beat up, but it definitely is just an old school diner. Overall, Jim's Restaurant is a great spot for breakfast or meeting with others, and is a local gem in the Austin area.
