About Salt Lick Cellars

Salt Lick Cellars offers a selection of BBQ options, including chopped brisket and breakfast tacos. The food is generally considered average, with highlights such as the mustard barbecue sauce and coleslaw. Its location in the airport makes it a convenient choice for travelers, especially those needing a quick bite before a flight. Recent reviews mention the brisket as tender and juicy, and the roast turkey as a surprisingly good option, especially for late-night travelers. The brisket egg taco in carryout is also noted as delicious. Service is quick and helpful, making it easy to get in and out even during busy times. Sides like beans and slaw are okay, but the sloppy mashed potatoes are seen as a mess and best skipped. The 3 meat platter is recommended for its good quality and reasonable price, especially considering it is an airport facility. Seating can be a challenge, as the restaurant takes time to prepare the food, since the line cooks slice meats and build platters. Overall, Salt Lick Cellars is a decent place for BBQ in the airport, especially for BBQ fans or those needing a satisfying meal before flying.

Muy bueno excelente Atencion
Anytime I fly through Austin or visit the area, I make sure to hit this place up. There is a little known special not on the menu! Ask for a baked potato with brisket, cheese and other toppings. Remember, ya have to ask or ya ain’t gonna get it. I learned this trick from a flight attendant and I haven’t been sorry and you won’t be either.
