Best tacos I’ve ever had. Get the campechano and birria
I've tried 4 taco stands, all only a couple minutes from my work place.
This place comes 1st in presentation by a landslide.
The portions were as big as the biggest I've seen from the other 4 spots.
Taste was better than the other 4 but not by a landslide.
10 bucks for a torta made it one of the more affordable places.
This will now be my go to 😎
I love their Sunday Quesabirria tacos! Full of rich flavor. I like their other tacos too but the Sunday special is my favorite.

Taqueria El Compa offers delicious authentic Mexican food with a healthy twist. The Aguas Fresas are light and refreshing, while the enchiladas are delicious and light, not smothered in lots of cheese like Tex-Mex. The chorizo tacos and 3 taco Birria combo are favorites among customers. The quesabirria tacos have been praised for their thick and intensely flavored consume, which includes chunks of beef. The service is friendly, and the family-owned restaurant has created a cozy indoor-outdoor dining room with around five or six tables.
Customers appreciate the relaxing patio and the welcoming atmosphere. The food is prepared quickly, with Los tacos de pastor and piña-flavored Aguas Fresca being highly recommended. Though parking can be a challenge, the great sauce options and lovely ambiance make it worth the effort. Many guests feel the tacos are so good that they ordered multiple times during their visit.
Despite some occasional unavailability of menu items and order mix-ups, especially during busy times, the overall experience remains positive. The flavors of the meat, particularly the pastor, tripe tacos, and asada, are excellent. The green salsa, while not particularly spicy, is satisfactory. Some customers note that the lack of A/C can make hot days uncomfortable, but the fresh ingredients and great presentation contribute to an amazing experience. The generous portion sizes and excellent catering services further enhance the appeal of this must-visit spot for anyone returning to Austin.
