Was excited to try this place after a recent visit to Chicago. Unfortunately…it was a big miss. Got there just after 5 as it opened at 5 on a weekday. Spent over $20 for the double Chicago dog and one chili dog. Chicago dog came with hot dogs that seemed to be like those dogs that have been sitting at the convenient store all day. Was notified after we received the dogs that he was out of poppy seed buns. Lol. If I’m paying over $10 for a hotdog..I would hope that it’s totally on point. The shift was just starting too!! What a downer.

I’m from Chicago- the hot dog was pretty good but pretty expensive for a hot dog. Spend $10 for a chilli cheese dog. In my opinion it’s a little too much for a hot dog. But service was great

My mom just got back from Chicago and was talking about wanting a Chicago dog, so we made the gamble and came here not sure if what to expect. I wish I had come sooner because it was the best hotdog and fries I’ve ever had in Austin! The service was incredible as well.
Parking was tricky since we went around 9PM and Saxon Pub (where the food truck is) was packed. We parked across the street at Starbucks without any issues. There is a shared patio with the bar where we ate which was cool because they have tvs with the live band playing. We will definitely be back!

Authentic and awesome. Chicago digs were perfect. Italian beef was just starting to get the bun a little soggy halfway through.
And the crinkle cut fries were cooked to absolute perfection. Probably a little overcooked for some, but crispy and delicious.

As a fellow Chicagoan—these guys are as close as we can get to a proper dog & beef!

Having been to Chicago, I crave a good hot dog and a good beef, and by god does this place deliver. I just found my new favorite spot!

As a former Chicagoan I was really excited to try this place. I stopped by with my family on Saturday night 4/13. We ordered the combo Chicago dog with a half Italian beef, an Italian sausage sandwich, pizza puff, fries, churros, and a side of pickles. The gal working said it would be 15 minutes but it ended up being over 30. The Chicago dog was excellent, but I have to rate the Italian beef and Italian sausage 0/10 because we never received them. The fries were overcooked and hard. The pizza puff was good and the kids enjoyed the churros. Ultimately we wanted to love this food truck but almost half our order was omitted so we were effectively robbed.

the hot dog was not hot at all
The food is friggin DELICIOUS, I've lived in Austin for like 10 years now, originally from Joliet, IL and this food truck brings Authentic Chicago style food. Portions are affordable, owner and staff are friendly people with positive energy. I definitely recommend trying this food. "Da Taste of Chicago" is a great menu item. Parking might be a little bit of a pain but it's definitely worth it.

This was my first and last time visiting this food truck. I paid $19 for a chili cheese dog, reg fries & drink and was very disappointed in the quality of the food. First off, the chili cheese dog was tasteless, the beef weaner was hard & lacked flavor and the bun was chewy from being over microwaved. The fries taste like they had been sitting in grease prior to actually cooking them. This was a 1 & done for me.

The service was so friendly and atmosphere was nice. This was our first time here and it was so good we had to come back again. We ordered the Chicago Hotdog and it is not your typical hot dog, but it was so good. We also ordered the hamburgers which was huge and delicious. Can’t wait to go back to try the pizza.
