“I want to touch on their Toasted After Dark offering. My husband and I recently hosted my 40th birthday party there as their first Toasted After Dark event. It was incredible! I really wanted a brunch menu, and while their offerings online showed mostly lunch/dinner offerings they worked with me to come up with the perfect brunch centered buffet. Our party of almost 40 people raved about how delicious it was! This was just the start. The staff, headed by manager Robert, cleared out an area to make a dance floor for our silent disco event. The mimosa package which came with various flavors of mimosas and house wine and I think beer was plentiful and our friendly bartender kept the drinks flowing. They bent over backwards to make it the perfect night and I couldn’t have imagined it much better than it turned out! I highly recommend them as a fun and different venue with delicious food for your next event!“

My boyfriend & I went for dinner to try a new place as we just moved to the area. Our server was Ms. Ariel & she was great! It wasn't busy so she was able to take our order VS us having to order with the barcode. I ordered a margarita which came with the gummy worms & a festive gummy eye ball for Halloween. Boyfriend got a mixed drink that came with a fun "help" umbrella.

I got the loaded fries with steak. It was actually really good! My bf enjoyed the garlic noodles with shrimp. This spot was a cool, even though it says "bar", we got more of the night club vibe but overall a cool spot for adults to vibe.

Kid-friendliness: You COULD bring kids but it's more of a club vibe so I personally wouldn't.“

“Today we were seated immediately. Ambience is phenomenal. I will say that we are on the keto diet so everything that we tried was from the keto menu, absolutely phenomenal. Coming from Atlanta, we’re very skeptical of foods that we try in other places, but I must say that, even with this being keto, the food was absolutely phenomenal. The service was impeccable. Jose was extremely patient with us and Took his time in explaining every aspect of the menu and answered all of our questions. And he made amazing recommendations, as he was extremely knowledgeable about every item on the menu. From the drinks down to the desserts, 10 / 10. We WILL be back!!!

“We had an amazing experience at Balboa! Starting with the complimentary valet, which was quick and friendly service. The entry to the restaurant was super nice and a great photo opportunity spot. Kyrah took excellent care of us during our visit, and we loved the team style service. It felt like we had a team serving us, and they are so quick and quiet that you can continue to hold conversations and visit but someone is always near if you need anything. Kyrah took special care to "refresh" our cocktail glasses when we finished about half of our drinks, and made excellent recommendations. The food was absolutely amazing. Our table tried the fried shrimp, oysters, spicy ahi tuna roll, crab cake, Post Oak ribeye with pureed potatoes, salmon with the most delicious and unique salad, and heirloom tomatoes. The cocktails were delicious, including the Gold Rush, Rum Dum, and el Guero. The restaurant vibe is romantic but fun and sophisticated and has an open kitchen concept where you can see the food being made if you care to watch. I will most definitely be back and can confidently recommend this place to anyone!“

“I am a native Houstonian so I am very protective of the legacy and reputation of our city, so it gives me so much pride to know that a place like this exists in our fair city. The food, the live music, comedy show, the cocktails & most of all the staff make this place one of Houston’s best hidden gems. The staff is some of the friendliest & charismatically lovely people I’ve ever experienced & the work diligently to create probably the most welcoming atmosphere in Houston of any venue. Management takes special care of their workers and the talent in a way I’ve never experienced in this city. I’ve literally seen customers hell bent on starting a fight still be treated with the utmost care & tenderness to make sure their concerns are addressed & resolved so they know they & their business are appreciated. This is easily my favorite venue in Houston because the focus is people & their experience. 5stars, 10 out of 10, the BEST!“

“1/12/2025-This is a awesome vibe here. The ambiance is a nice bistro with some crazy art to keep you entertained but the music and lighting sets the mood. I would come back here again and again. I visited here without a reservation and was greeted when I first came in. The staff was nice friendly and attentive. Emma was awesome and recommended some dishes. The burger, half chicken, rice, and sesame butter cookie were awesome and the drinks. I had the voodoo drink. I highly recommended and you won't be disappointed.“

“First time visiting and can’t wait to come back. Service and food were outstanding!!!! Every dish is so unique. For starters we had the ARGENTINIAN PROVOLETA, CRISPY PORK BELLY IN PASILLA SAUCE, and Snapper Ceviche. For my main I had the Yellow Crab Curry, which was delicious! Other dishes we had were the Tea Smoked Duck, Argentinian Style Tenderloin, Adobo Snapper, and NIGERIAN SUYA SKEWERS. We were a party of 9 so I know I’m missing some dishes, but let’s just say everyone was raving about how awesome the food was. It was my husband’s birthday and at the end our waiter brought him an array of desserts from all over the world. ❤️5 STARS and then some!“

“I didn’t have high expectations of this place but after eating here I was pleasantly surprised. While the menu may not be cutting edge recipes but more of what you expect in an American menu, what they do have they do well, with their own twists.
1. The free biscuits were very good. It came with flavored butter and a sweet jelly. The biscuits came hot and steamy, fresh out of the oven.
2. The wedge salad had your typical ice burg lettuce and butter milk blue cheese dressing. What made it next level was the perfectly thin fried onion rings that were crispy and tasty.
3. The shrimp and grits: the shrimp had blackened seasoning and fresh and plump. Nothing wrong there. The grits were well cooked and not clumpy. There was a ring of Thai chili sauce on the edge of the grits. The combination of the buttery grits with the sauce made for a pleasant eating experience. It was a touch too sweet but I didn’t mind.
The only down side was that the service after water was placed on the table was really slow. It took a long time for food to be ordered.
Overall, good quality food served and worth a second visit.“

“i was in Grace 1/22/2022 i had a party of 15 from the time we sat down the service was really bad mind you they made some really good money off my party but we was treated really bad the part that sticks out is one of my people paid for a drink that they did not have the manger told her i got your money already so there is nothing i can do about it you probably just paid for someone else drink so deal with it but they really had added an extra drink cuz everyone had paid for there drinks long story short i will not go there anymore“

“Have been going here since 2016 and I've seen it grow from a shack to a full blown pavilion with doors and space for heaters. The graffiti has been kept and is not quite family friendly :). It's still one of the most affordable, unique hot dog places in town. The Southern Caviar is a great sharable appetizer that normally comes with 6-10 toast bites and very generous servings of cheese. A taco is large enough for 4-5 big bites and can be shared among two people as an appetizer. One hot dog with this combo works very well, or two hot dogs with no appetizers if you have a real appetite. Highly recommend chef's choice of toppings (honestly can't go wrong with any meat but I'm partial to the duck, lamb, and elk. I usually do chef's choice toppings, with sauerkraut) and the cheese from the southern caviar helps finish the pretzel bun if you have some left over after eating the hot dog.

Dietary restrictions: Pretty nut allergy friendly, at least with the tacos and hot dogs. Some beers may have peanut butter notes.“

“This place has become one of my regular spots. Service is always on point. Food is excellent , though once we did encounter a mediocre version of a regular dish, but that was taken care of very quickly and with apologies... Most of dishes are impressive, some are ok, but everything is prepared as it should, so it usually comes down to the taste of the patron. Redfish is probably one of the best I ever had. Center is moist and skin is unbelievably crisp, it challenges laws of nature as these 2 extremes should not exist in such proximity. Cocktails are excellent and well prepared, for my personal taste- they serve best Vesper Martini in H-town. Eggplant and asparagus dishes are must have.“

“Our first brunch at Rainbow Lodge and were not disappointed. Food, service, ambience met and exceeded our expectations. The pecan sticky buns were outstanding and could be a meal by themselves. I ordered the brisket hash and asked for the eggs over medium well (dislike runny eggs) and when the dish arrived at the table, it was obvious the eggs were barely over-easy. Lothar, our waiter, took the dish back to the kitchen. When he returned a few minutes later, the eggs were cooked perfectly. The other three dishes arrived as ordered and nothing was left by the time we finished. Well worth a return visit.“

“Barnaby’s never has given me bad service. Every location, including this one. The food is amazing with large portions. I have never had any anything I never disliked even though 50% of the time when I go there, I always order lasagna because it’s like hands-down my favorite thing on the menu. Everything else I have there is delicious. The salads are huge and it’ll take days to eat them. I recently had the French dip which is another favorite item of mine. I had my birthday dinner there two days ago at the Fairview location and everything was perfect. The staff did an amazing job accommodating the amount of guests I had. I had around 18 people and they were able to accommodate it without even having a reservation and that’s really hard to find especially this time of the year during the holiday season. It’s really hard having a December birthday considering people are celebrating the holidays and most restaurants tend to be super busy than usual and I appreciate everything the restaurant did the night of my birthday. It couldn’t have been any better. Thank you guys for giving me such a good birthday experience with all of my friends being together. The staff is always incredible going above and beyond. The food is always very delicious and large portions. If I could give any recommendations, I would love for you guys to get more cake flavors. I think red velvet would be amazing for you guys.
