“I really enjoyed this bar! I'm pretty fair but I'm always honest. With that said I found that this place did really well. First off they greeted you when you came in and were friendly throughout the experience. They had a wide variety of liquors and the place was set up nicely and was clean. There is lots and lots of room. They even have an outside area for nice days which really was impressive. They have a decent size parking lot and I had no problems getting in with my RV.. the prices are moderate which is very easy to deal with when considering the exceptional service. The overall feel of the place is laid back and the dress code is casual. If I am in Belton I will definitely go back. Also if you are a fellow veteran you will probably strike up some great conversations...“
“***update 3.17.24Well I've been coming back to this place at least once a year because it's been so good. I love the chicken Fried steak. It was good this time but It was to soaked in grease and the breading wasn't as crispy as it should be. Not to mention they're passing on the cost of doing business to their customers charging us to 3% for using a card. For this reason I won't come back.*********Update-- I am riding down again tomorrow- 4th of july 2018 - my wife and i on my new goldwing. (new to me) This is our place to go for a days worth of riding. This is "our" spot now.I drove 150 miles for some chicken fried steak. I was not disappointed. Big steak home made gravy was out of this world. Home made onion rings were top notch.I seem someone getting s brisket topped baked potato and that thing looked like a football. Well worth the ride.** Update ** going back tomorrow....... 150 miles and will love the ride down and back and enjoy my lunch.“
“First time out there after a few years, and wow has the quality improved so much! My burrito was PACKED (maybe bigger than chipotle’s portions!) and the flavor was great. My one nit-pick would be that the ingredients were all separated, so it was a bit difficult to achieve all the flavors in one bite. But I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and sheer size! The atmosphere is a nice modern vibe, and very well taken care of. It was a slower time, but the staff was great & super helpful, and who I presume to be the owner or a manager was very sincere & genuine! If you’re local to the area, I would definitely recommend to check this place out, & Im excited to come back and have a dine in experience!“

“Atmosphere is nice the bartenders are always pleasant and helpful with suggesting beers. It looks like they have over 50 beers on tap and an extensive wine list. The only weird part is going next door to order food but the food was good and fast and they deliver it to you.“
“My husband and I always try go here for a drink when we are in the Temple area. Always a great atmosphere, great wine and great service. Occasionally we run into the owner, Jett, and strike up some good conversation. Definitely 5 stars. I must visit if you are in the Temple area.“
“Great place for Honky Tonkin... pool, bar, golf game with AMI juke box you can play from your phone or the box! Easy access from I-35. Restaurants and a motel are very close should you decide you'd better stay than drive because you had such a fantastic time.“
“For my 500th review, I present to you my favorite hang out in Central Texas that is next to my favorite barbecue spot in Central Texas. This is a family run establishment. It has been open longer than I have been alive. This is a very local hang out with many very close regulars. But they don't bite. As I am moderately amused by most things in life, I like the chill ambiance. Rustic with operational doors, soap dispenser and hand towel machine for the ladies restroom. Yes, that's a big deal. Things to know: 1) Beer only but.... 2) BYOLiquor and get charged a fee for it? Or there's soft drinks you can purchase? I have not really ever figured that out. 3) There is nothing over $4 and there is a Thirsty Thursdays discount. 4) The jukebox plays everything but be careful what you pick! Some songs just shouldn't be played here. 5) There is one pool table and it does get used. 6) They do gladly accept cash but you can pay by credit card. 7) If you're looking for barbecue, it's a tan building to the right of Honeycutt's as you're looking in from Airport. 8) You can eat your barbecue here. But you still have to go get it yourself, lazy. 9) Don't piss off the owner or the bartender. If you don't know. You better ask somebody! Or just try it out!“
“Nice chill spot that gets overlooked a lot , only a few draft selections but they do have liquor. And they make a good deep eddys sweet tea lemonade . I like the old building and the old floors , the patio is legit and you get a decent view of the field going out into the creek, I'll stop here again !“
“I didn’t get her name. Last night we had our car towed. We are a family of six. We had four children sitting on the sidewalk in the cold while we tried to figure out how we were supposed to get our car. This lady bartending from across the street came over to let us know who had towed our car, when they took it, and that we were welcome to come inside with all of our kids to get warm until we figured things out. After realizing we were going to need an Uber we went inside to wait. The kind lady ask our kids if they wanted any chips or something to drink. She also went on to ask if we needed any help paying for our tow because she had two kids of her own and understands how hard it can be. She was willing to cash app complete strangers!!! Though we were able to pay for it on our own I just wanted to give her a review. The kindness she showed covered up everything bad that happened last night. We talked to a really rude lady from the tow company and were treated terribly but after getting our car back and headed home we couldn’t help but go back to the lady that was kind and helpful. Thank you very much for reminding me that there are still good people in this crazy world we live in today. Our children never missed a beat. They’ve never been to a bar before lol but they enjoyed the light up floors. Thank you again to that lady and I pray God blesses you beyond measure for the kindness you showed my family. He’s real and you’re just another reason I know he is.“
“Wheelchair accessibility: It is accessible by wheel chair. It isn't very convenient though, because the bar is basically divided into two sections.You can access both sections via wheelchair, but only from the outside. There is no ramp accessible inside.“
“Why has it taken me so long to discover La Riv Kitchen & Bar? Last week I met a friend for lunch here. I loved it so much, I met two more friends today. On my first visit we shared the wedge salad. I was a little skeptical at first because it has bleu cheese on it. I'm not a fan of bleu cheese, but wanted to be a good sport, so agreed to trying it. Grilled romaine, candied bacon, cherry tomatoes, and bleu cheese works. Who knew? During the same visit, I had Bolognese rigatoni and my friend had the shrimp scampi. Both were large portions and we each took a 'doggy bag' home. I couldn't stop thinking about the wedge salad, so today, two more friends and I met for lunch. This time they were unsure about ordering a salad with bleu cheese on it, but at my insistence they gave it a go. Yep. They loved it too. In addition we ordered pizza. One would have been enough to share, but at the advice of our server, we each got one and once again I had food to take home. I got the vegetarian, one friend got the Margherita and the other got the pepperoni. We agreed the pepperoni was our fav. Next time, we will share the salad and a pepperoni pizza. Loved the chew on the chargrilled crust and the ratio of toppings to cheese to sauce. We also ordered a margarita each and thought it was well made. La Riv has great food, ambience, and service. I look forward to bringing the Mr. here for date night soon!“
“Had a wonderful experience. The breakfast wasn’t great but the waffles I couldn’t get enough of. My two year old son ate a whole one by himself. They are perfect texture and consistency. I got the strawberry and cream and my husband got Elvis waffle. They have a bit of sweet crunch when you bite into them. Just delicious. When my husband comes back from work again we decided to come back just for the waffles and try some mimosas. Thank you for the wonderful gem of a restaurant.“
