This is not a place you would go to for its atmosphere. However, it more than excels for its food and service. Every dish I have tried is delicious. And they give you a little bowl of fideo as an appetizer and dessert at the end of your meal.The waitresses are all friendly and provide good service. This is one of my regular places to visit when I go to Brownsville.
My 2nd time back I returned again but decided on breakfast. And it was quite exceptional, very good. I had the Nopal breakfast plate, and my sister had a Ham and gegg with cheese Taco. Pretty decent portion and was fresh. The flour tortilla didn't look reheated, although my plate came with corn tortillas. Love the food, it has a very home-style taste to it. Try the chicken quesadilla, it's awesome; it has actual chicken fajitas, not chicken breast, with roasted bell pepper and onions, all that and a side of rice, beans, and guacamole. Pancakes and eggs and other American food are good too, but the Mexican food is where it's at in this restaurant.There seems to be another restaurant down the road with the same name and while the food is just as good, the ambiance is not the same....read full review
